Tools/Settings/Default Permissions/Microphone/Allow

In trying to save the "allow" microphone the selection will not "stick". Always reverts back to "block". Tried selecting allow then closing browser but always reverts back to "block". Any ideas on how to allow /microphone. TIA

But i can confirm that microfon lost setting made in Settings → Privacy. -
Think i will wait awhile until the "updating" is done on current version....

Ah, in Vivaldi 5.2 works in internal Chromium settings page at chrome://settings/content/microphone/
Now it stays as Blocked.I will report the bug to tracker now.
//edit: Done.
Reported as
VB-88561 "Settings for microphone does no stay" -
Thank you

I cannot set mic access to "allow" in Vivaldi 5.2.2623.48 (32-bit). The setting keeps reverting to "ask." Moreover, when I try to use Google Voice to dial out, Google Voice responds with
Allow mic access Click Allow to use your microphone here
However, there's nothing to click.
Sending Vivaldi to
chrome://settings/content/microphone
opens the page at
vivaldi://settings/content/microphone
where the default behavior offers only two choices:
Default behavior (o) Sites can ask to use your microphone ( ) Don't allow sites to use your microphone
How to use use Vivaldi to dial out on Google Voice?
-
@enyap Google Voice is a service that Vivaldi would have to pay for, so it is not available.
-
Not sure about Google Voice as it's blocked here (US only) and like Pesala said if it uses the Google Voice API it won't be supported because Vivaldi would need to license use of the API costing $$$...
However I have no problems using Vivaldi for Google Meet and Whereby. And the setting sticks.
Opening
chrome://settings/content/microphone
gets redirected to avivaldi://
URL but that's expected. Default behaviour is Ask.I guess you could try adding a site under "Allowed to use your microphone". Another method is to click the Site Info button, Site Settings, and set it explicitly there.
Does it work here?

Thank you for responding so quickly. Alas, No joy.
... like Pesala said if it uses the Google Voice API
it won't be supported because Vivaldi would need to
license use of the API costing $$$...I suspect a Google API is not involved. Google says (https://tinyl.io/6MMF)
Google Voice is compatible with the current release and 1 previous major release of these browsers: Chrome Browser Microsoft Edge Mozilla Firefox (Windows and Mac) Safari
I guess you could try adding a site under "Allowed to
use your microphone". Another method is to click the
Site Info button, Site Settings, and set it explicitly
there.Thank you for that pointer. I did so. I can now complete calls to my cell phone with about being asked to allow microphone access, but there is no audio passing in either direction. It's as if both mics are muted. They are not.
I do not have this problem on Firefox.
Does [the microphone] work here? https://webcammictest.com/check-mic.html
Yes, and it works in Zoom as well.
