@aaron That is what I did. Problem is the computer with the default settings overrode the computer with my customer settings. So now both computers have the default setting. I want to get my setting back and have my settings on both computers.

@coachcathy are your custom bookmarks gone, or is it just that the default bookmarks are set as the speeddial bookmark folder? In the bookmark panel you can select any folder and choose "Use as Speed Dial" (or "remove from Speed Dial")

If you want your #2 computer fatch #1's settings (bookmarks, notes, etc.) , try empty all data on #2, and , do "Delete Remote data" at #2, then wait for sync on #2.
please backup all data on #1 before do above. -
@wildente My custom bookmarks & speed dial settings are gone. Yeah SD is easy but I had a lot of bookmarks setup.

@aaron The issue is
I loaded Valvaldi (V) on #2 computer thinking when I logged in it would automatically have all my bookmarks and Speed Dial etc. When It didn't do that, I searched and found you have to synce the computers.
I was in the process of syncing them and learned that #1 needed a V update (the version I was running didn't include syncing). So I updated #1 and then they synced which made the setting for #1 match #2 which are the default settings.
I looking for a way to recover my custom settings for #1 and then sync to #2.
I'm sorry it's so confusing but basically after adding V to my #2 computer, the syncing did just the opposite of what I needed it to do. Now my customer settings are gone.

@coachcathy don't shut #1 down just yet, if you haven't already done so.
Look in help/About for the location of your profile folder and go there. In the Default folder should be a bunch of folders and files, and two of the files should be Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak. Are these two files the same size, or no?

Ppafflick moved this topic from Vivaldi for Windows on

@ayespy what "help/About" are you talking about? Vivaldi?
-
Is there a way to get help from the Vivaldi technicians?

-
@coachcathy This is a menu selection. Go to the vivaldi button at the top left of your browser window. Click on it. Select Help. In the resulting drop-down, select About.
A quicker way perhaps, is to just type into your address bar "vivaldi:about" and then press the "return" or "enter" key.

@coachcathy There are no Vivaldi "technicians" per se.
Vivaldi operates on limited income and a very small budget. It has a very small team.
There are between 20 and 25 Vivaldi developers and designers, all of whom are busy designing, developing, maintaining and debugging Vivaldi in multiple versions on at least seven different platforms. They do not also operate a help desk. They do maintain the Help pages (F1) as time permits. Once in a great while, an actual Vivaldi developer will read and answer on the Forums. Otherwise, volunteer helpers like myself and your peers in the Vivaldi community try to help each other as much as possible.
