Solved No option to pin to taskbar in Windows 11
-
In Windows 11 there is no option to pin to the taskbar (pin to start menu is OK).
This includes by:- right clicking on the executable
- right clicking on the item in the start menu
- right clicking on the task bar item
I am not sure if this is an issue with the normal install - but it appears to be with the portable one.

Ok... it seams that W11 doesn't let you pin things that are installed to removable storage ... a bit silly since my removable storage I want it on is permanently connected to my pc!
-
@i00 There is no such thing as a portable install.
I have five standalone installs here for different purposes. All of them are pinnable (and three of them are pinned) to the taskbar in Win 11.

I use Windows 11 and I can dock Vivaldi without any problems. Here is a test.

It's been a long time since I used removable storage - as far as I remember, you can turn off the quick eject functionality in its properties, which might allow you to pin things. (Forgotten memories... no guarantee)

he wrote it's permanently connected, so this shouldn't be an issue. But yes, a bit of carefullness is necessary with this.

Open Vivaldi and a icon will appear in the taskbar, as do all open applications. Right click on that icon and select "Pin to taskbar". Viola, done.

Not working in my Windows 10 installation, option is not there. Fresh installed Windows.

Hi, this is a Windows 11 feature, iirc you can simply drag and drop the desktop icon to the task bar on Windows 10.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin
This used to work in Windows 8 already, and it also worked in Windows 10, it still works with everything else in Windows 10, just not Vivaldi. -
I don't have windows 11 but I'll try to help you.
Can you see Vivaldi browser logo on your desktop
️ screen?
If yes, just click on mouse "left click' and then drag on your taskbar.
