Solved Can't add gmail in Vivaldi Mail
-
I want to add gmail to Vivaldi mail but I get following error:
"Login for outgoing server failed. Server responded with: undefined"
No clue what it means. -
A fix for this was pushed on the 23rd of Feb
VB-86619 Google OAuth dialog fails to open if there are any active extensions
It will be out in the next snapshot.
In the meantime there's a workaround
Temporarily disable the extensions while logging in so they won't block the OAuth pop up -
getting the same problem.
help!

@thekingofbooks Have you turned on "less secure applications" in your GMail account, and do you have "crypto token" checked undeer Privacy/Google
Extensions in Settings? -

I had the same problem, but it was fixed when I turned off all extensions.
In my case, it seems that the "Dark Reader" and "uBlock Origin" extensions were affecting me. I turned off those two and it worked fine. (On the other hand, it doesn't work properly when either of those two are on.)Sorry for the bad English, English is not my first language.

@gmfseal
Hi, one user report uBlock Origin work with default settings, may you take a look if something email related is blocked.
@afdheldivo
As you need to login to Google you need the settings Crypto Token enabled.
Some user disable all Google extensions and wonder why no Google services are working then.Cheers, mib

I don't know what the symptoms of this topic owner are, but in my case, the "Identity API Scope Approval UI" window that opens when adding a Google account to the Vivaldi mail client does not open when the extension is on.
In addition to the above two extensions, the above window crashed even when "Bitwarden" and "uAutoPagerize" were turned on, so although I haven't tested it in detail, it may not work if there are extensions that make even small changes to the page display. (I even deleted all filter subscriptions in ublock to no avail.) -

finally...
was able to add my office365 account after turning off all extensions -
The Modal/window that pops when trying to add an email account via OAuth, as well as the add Google Calendar both will pop open the window to login, and then immediately close it. The only error is the setup screen saying "Could not connect".
For the gmail, I was able to use an app password as a workaround, but I cannot add my google calendar in any other way.

Do you guys have to do the OAuth verify everyday?
My office365 account needs to verify everyday
Now when I find my mail is not receiving any emails, I have to disable all my extensions in order to unblock the OAuth pop up... -

No of course not. For some reason this happens to some people. We haven't quite figured it out yet, but are working on it.
In the mean time, you could try using an App Password as a workaround

Like I mentioned before (if this is the same issue) then a fix is already in and will be out in the next snapshot (which should be out today).

Thanks, @gmg
Looks like my org does not allow app passwords...
have to wait for the fix -
I got a mail from Google today stating user/pass will be completely impossible from May. Great.
Lucky I don't actually care about my GMail account (was only created when setting up Android in 2010) but it will no longer be popped into my Opera mail archive any more...

@mossman
Just got the same... -
@mossman
Was that in regards to two factor authentication being mandated or no longer supporting App Password or something else? -
