You see, @hlehyaric, this is why when your convert to Linux this coming weekend, your choice of distro is super important. Pick the wrong one & all your hard work can be undone in a flash!
Btw...
-
@guigirl Nope.
That only happens whensomeone
has a screenful of text to read through (and can't be bothered). -
@tbgbe But Shirley
nobody
could be that foolish... unless they run a YT channel... -

Just be careful that you
- Install O.S.
- Perform any updates before doing anything else

@guigirl Yes, that's why I lean to Ubuntu Budgie instead of Ubuntu (Gnome)β¦

YMMD. Really.

fsck up

Rumors say that

really means Dalek Destruction. -
@doctorg Heeheehee. Hey, that's a pretty cool site, innit!
-
@guigirl Yeah, some sounds are more Muzak (background dΓΌdel music), instead of real music.
-
@tbgbe Hey, looking at your sig...
...last week, were you getting bad fatigue & RSI with all those updates?
-
-
-
@guigirl At least I know I'm up to date
-
@guigirl I was so looking forward for some big drama in reddit and everywhere containing angry mobs accusing "incompetent amateurs & idiots leaving everyone vulnerable for over a year, that's it, πͺ U, I'm moving to Debian" and continue the bashing there, then I realised it wasn't about an expired certificate in some server like in MJ so it wasn't justified.

@npro Whilst my posts on this have been slightly tongue in cheek, i was genuine in my sense of growing unease about what seems to be a pretty big potential security hole. Whilst atm nothing has materially improved, hearing from GC about his plan to sort this out, & also hopefully future-proof it, made me feel better.
I've used Fedora, dito oS, on-metal in my Tower [ie, not just in VMs], & for various reasons i really would prefer not to have to go back to either of them. But Arch really does need to get its act together re the toolchain.
