Vivaldi and Google Play... this is tedious

I just downloaded V5.0 (Android) from the Vivaldi site... and I get a warning about Google Play store not being available. There have been versions where this notification didn't turn up but now it does again.

Not everybody uses a Google Play store-infested Android device and after downloading from Vivaldi I'd expect this not to be a problem.

Does it mean that the Play Store stopped working for you or is it just a warning? I tried downloading the .apk file but didn't receive any such error messages (using Android 9 phone).

How can a Google Play Store that is not even INSTALLED stop working?

To re-iterate: I have NO Google Play Store on my device. I download the .apk from the Vivaldi website and start it. I get a fat warning that Vivaldi will only work if Google Play Store is installed (which is not and will not be installed).

This is an Android v8 device.

These are not the same messages. It's hard to guess from the first post what the problem actually is. That's why I asked you a question. I didn't assume anything - I was just trying to help. But you decided to be rude for no reason. Therefore, I won't be assisting you on this any further.

As for the Google Play store stopping working message, if it's a system warning, then I believe that's a question that you should ask the developers of that operating system.

And if you believe that there is a problem with the installer, you can report that issue to the developers - all you need is here: how to report a bug. That's it from me.
