Vivaldi 5.0 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 2497.14/15
-
Non-focused windows still do not desaturate the accent colour when "Fade Foreground Colours" is checked. It's something I mentioned when I reported VB-84706 (which in turn seems duplicate to VB-84690 save for that extra detail), but I guess it's a separate bug. Should I file it as such?
Other than that I can confirm that flip gestures still apply to all open windows (as @Pesala said) - I don't use these often, but I can reproduce the bug.
Other gestures seem fixed indeed - thanks for that!

@pathduck and translate panel

I mean, I also got rpm packages made for arm and arm64 Linux but probably nobody cares about that apart from me
-
As I commented on previous snapshot (since I posted it just as the thread was closed)
Windows 10.
Fresh install of snapshot: when a page is loaded from the speen dial (or from the address bar when the speed dial is current page), the tab turns to white until the actual web page is loaded into the tab.
Fresh install of stable release (4.3) does not do this. It properly honors the vivalidi color scheme

And you would be right.

can anyone confirm this bug:
- set tab auto reload to any value
- close tab
- reopen tab from trashbin
-> auto reload is deactivated
Win10 20H2
-
@altcode Here, have it back:
-
@derday Confirmed, but is it a bug or the expected behaviour?
-
@pesala
I asked myself the same question, but at least it worked until the second to last snapshot. I'll report it, then we see(and thanks for testing)
€dit: VB-84726
-
I haven't seen VB-84469 (Unable to Export Themes)listed as corrected, but cursory testing in environment that produced the bug indicates that theme exporting is now working. I'll do some add'l testing to verify.
-
@derday Do you remember which version worked? I tried Stable and a few internal builds, but it doesn't work in any of them
-
@pafflick
sorry but no. I have only the snapshot branch installed and have no old version for testing.
I have only a few tabs with auto-reload activated, but as far as I remember, this worked "all the time"What is also curious: if I close a window, which contains tabs with auto reload active and I reopen the window from trashbin, the auto reload state is enabled furthermore for all tabs (which had it active before)
So, at least here is an inconsistency -
@shatnerd5399 Thanks for the report, our developers will take a look at this issue soon.
-
Well, seeing as it's an RC...

VB-84084: POST-searches broke again, unless once more i DEselect
Always search in new tab
.
-- It was last fixed in Snapshot 3.8.2238.3 / Chrome 89.0.4389.91. It broke again with Snapshot 4.x.2457.3 [i can't remember if that was 4.3 or 4.4]. It remains broken in each Snapshot4.4.2465.3 / Chrome 94.0.4606.104
to5.0.2497.14 / Chrome 96.0.4664.51
inclusive. It'd be such a shame for it to end up in the impending Stable. -
VB-84508: The last parent tab fails to auto-stack its children.
-- It broke in Snappie 4.4.2488.3. It'd be such a shame for it to end up in the impending Stable.

Seems the loading using the native window is faster -
@shatnerd5399: I hadn't noticed it, but since you posted it I tried it and I also get the white tab before the web page is loaded. So, it's not just you.
-
did you miss anything? 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and immediately 5.0. Wow, amazing Vivaldi!
-
Hmm, with Vivaldi's dark themes + Windows Dark mode i get a white flash before page loads.
-
@doctorg Yes, definitely a regression in the snapshots since 4.3 but not sure it started with this version. I get the same in
4.4.2493.3
.In 4.3 Stable it only flashes white on first load of a bookmark or SD (an old problem), after that it uses the theme background colour.
Now it flashes white on every page load...

I don't know if Vivaldi follows semver; if it does, then something must have warranted the jump to 5.0.
