Solved Vivaldi and artifacts [Fixed]
-
Hi, In recent versions I'm having artifacts, random pixels of the fonts that stay when I scroll the page. I have to scroll up and down one or 2 times for it to disappear. Sometimes moving the mouse makes them disappear.
This problem is increasing with every new update.
I tried a new profile and nothing.
Disabling HW acceleration makes the problem disappear, but the performance of scroll is awfull.Chrome and Firefox works normal.

Well I found the solution, is to disable in nvidia settings, the vsync for the browser.
But I think this is still a problem, because no other browser needs this... -
@onolox
Hi, some user report disable Vertical Sync in the Nvidia settings may help.
I have 2D Canvas enabled in chrome://flags
it help for text rendering.Cheers, mib

Nothing helps. I think it's time to go back to good old Firefox...

@onolox
Hi again, it seams you are the only one with this issue, it is something with your system, driver and Vivaldi.
You cant compare with Firefox, it use a complete different render engine.
Show other Chromium browser the same problem, Edge or Chromium itself for example?
Your Windows version is outdated, whats about your Nvidia driver?Cheers, mib

No, he is not the only one, I have the same, this issue comes with what I wrote in this post:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/67570/artifacts-and-youtube-flickering?_=1635960635525
Also font aliasing is missing, which can also be fixed with simply moving the mouse.Still annoying.

@mib2berlin Like I said other browser don't have this problem, only vivaldi.

I'm having the same problem and I have the same hardware (GTX 1080), seems to be happening with GTX 1080 users, and as described, only on Vivaldi.
Tested on version 471.47 and latest 497.09 (in both, video on Youtube flashes black and all pages have artifacts)
I went back to 471.12 and the problems were gone, except the artifact started to appear again, but "less aggressive". (Which has never happened before even though I've been on 471.12 for quite some time)In none of the drivers, Edge, Chrome, Firefox had any problem.
Disabling Vsync for Vivaldi didn't solve..
I will try reinstall Vivaldi. -
@onolox Yes, i know this from my Linux PC last year where a NVidia panel setting cause issue with GSync/VSync.
-
Disabling v-sync for the exe in nvidia control panel does not fix the render issue for me (1050Ti).
It is getting more and more annoying, it is messing with my eyesight...
This thread should not be labeled as "fixed"! -
