unread count wrong
-
Vivaldi distinguishes between
new unread
mails andopened unread
mails.
I noticed today that even after opening several times, the number of new mails does not change.
It even appears in the read mails the number 29, which is completely off.
Probably there is a bug here, or?
In newest snapshot it is similar, even if there the 29 does not appear, but a realistic number.
Since I didn't notice this before, I suspect it might be somehow due to the current mail arrivals....Does anyone have an idea about this?
EDIT//
I have usedK
to move the two mails toread
.
After that it looks like this now:That is correct. However, where did the
29
go to?
I don't understand the sense of 2 different numbers (29|2 in this case) in the read inbox. -
@dancer18 Also see the problem but it is an old one for me. Something to do with applying filters I guess. Right clicking in the offending folder and selecting "Rerun filter for folder" will solve it until it happens again...

@durtro Thank you! I'll give it a try next time.
There is still a lot of hidden options to discover in this feature rich browser...EDIT//
Rerun filter for folder
works fine. -
@dancer18 yes, it does work but it shouldn't be necessary as often as it is.
For me at least it is a daily occurrence:
-
@durtro So we can write a bug report on it.

Some times this inconsistency appears between the "father folder" and the "children". An example in mailing lists follow:
-
Still a daily occurrence in two different vivaldi clients. Also some messages were not showing in tags, maybe due to an update, thus I had to "Rerun filter for folder" on those also.
Maybe there should be an option to "re-apply" filters globally as it exists for rebuilding the search database.

Disabled the unseen count due to this problem and found a detail that don't know if it is intended or not. Basically, the number of unseen/unread e-mails shown in the e-mail icon changes appearance. Screenshots follow for both the panel icon and status bar icon with unseen count disabled and enabled.
With unseen count disabled, panel and status bar:

I am also affected by this (from the start, I think) and for one (my main gmail) account reruning the filter does not fix this.
-
Has anybody ever submitted a bug report?
-
Is there a way to somehow display only unseen e-mails? I would be curious which e-mails are unseen according to Vivaldi. But maybe the number of unseen e-mails is just virtual.
