Sadly, once more...
POST-searches broke again, unless once more i DEselect
Always search in new tab
.
VB-84084.This option works fine for me

@stardust Pls retry in a virgin profile.
Tested in the new profile, works fine.
And just to be clear, i am exclusively talking about POST searches. GET searches still work fine, in a new tab.
What is the difference?
-
@guigirl It completely fails in a test profile, even in current tab, with POST enabled in both Searx preferences & V Settings.
-
@guigirl Yes, in a test profile, I get a blank tab, but only in a new tab (my first attempt was flawed, it works in current tab).
-
@guigirl That's not the first time that an issue happens in a clean profile but not in a real one. Last summer, a user reported an issue when opening a new tab I couldn't reproduce in my real profile, but was easily reproducible in a test profile. Sigh
-
@Ruarí Does this mean that we will soon be able to set the Translation Panel as the default action when using the context-menu to translate selected text?
And if so, will that option finally get rid of this HTML that is injected at the bottom of every Vivaldi page?
-
@doctorg hmm, can't reproduce in new profile...

[New][Translate][Panel] Provide another way to translate selections (VB-80593)
Some other improvements for the translate feature:
- Swap Languages Button
- Horizontal view layout
-
@guigirl Interesting. POST searches in new tab seem to fail for websites with subdomains (like eg.
search.disroot.org
), while they seem to work fine with websites on the root domain (like eg.searx.be
). Both seem to work fine with the POST method disabled, by the way.
Can you contradict/confirm this theory using your search engines examples? -
@pafflick Fwiw, POST searches in a new tab fail using
searx.xyz
. -
@hlehyaric Indeed. Might be another factor, then.
