Passwords with Gmail account
-
Hello and Good Morning from Austria,
I use Vivaldi-Linux-64bit on Linux-Kubuntu 21.04 - alongside Thunderbird as long as Vivaldi-M3 still is in beta. I have a couple of mail accounts, a Gmail account being one of them. Its definition includes SSL/TLS and OAuth. Every time I open the browser I get asked my password TWICE for this account. This is somewhat boring after a while! I wonder how I can avoid it. On Thunderbird the server uses OAuth2 and I never have to enter passwords there. Thanks for a clarification.
Regards

@hstoellinger Are you using a gmail calendar account on Vivaldi?

@luetage yes...

@hstoellinger Disable it, restart Vivaldi and check whether you still get the separete login request. Mail alone shouldn’t give you the issue. Using gmail mail account generally works out fine as long as you give Vivaldi access as less secure app in your Google account settings. What works too is having 2 step verification enabled and creating a specific app password for Vivaldi. Accessing a gmail calendar account however, seems to give the issues you describe.
