Support for Opera add-ons
-
There are some cool add-on's available for opera (a bit like chrome extensions) that can be downloaded from addons.opera.com. As Vivaldi is very closely related to Opera, I don't think it would be too hard to add support for them.

@thescorb0 Opera has a different and incompatible user and extension interface. I guess some extensions would not run on Vivaldi. I think it would be easier to ask extension author to add support for Vivaldi.

Ok, I just thought that it would be possible because they are both chromium and stuff. I guess i can just stick with regular chrome extensions then.

You could do it when the extension is in Github and you can download the zip.

I use two Opera extension in Vivaldi, they work, but I had to install them manually. Because of that there will be no auto-updates of course.
The way to do it is to open the page with extension in Opera. Right click on button that allows to install it. Choose to save link content as and download the file. In Vivaldi open extensions manager and drag the downloaded file there. It should install without a problem.
That's a lot of work though, so it would be nice to be able to install them directly from the page and receive updates.

But some work without a problem, so I don't think that the interface is incompatible. Opera can support both extension types. Even Waterfox gained ability to support them. If there would be any problems with them then require functions can be just added to make them work.
I think it would be easier to ask extension author to add support for Vivaldi.
But where an add-on with support for Vivaldi (but not Chrome itself?) would be uploaded? Is there a Vivaldi extensions page? If any the author should be asked to make a Chrome extension and put in the Chrome web store. But I think that if they wanted to do that then they already would. Chrome is a more popular browser than Opera after all.
