Built-in Ad Blocker and uBlock Origin
-
@code3 thanks for the information.
In fact, I do not know anyone who uses this Malwarebytes extension so I think uBO should be enough.
As for V's inner blocker, I tend to think it would not be effective against coin mining but I do not have any proof about it.
-
@c2a It should be effective against coin mining with third party providers.
-
@code3 oh I see; if I add a no coin list or something like that
-
@c2a This webpage can be used to test vivaldi adblocker or ubo: https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/src/adblock.html Alternatively, if you don't trust it, look up d3ward adblock. It will offer you an percentage of how many most known adverts and trackers have been blocked.
Also, if you have an Android or iOS device, there is a software called Blokada that will block all ads/trackers across the system, not just in the browser. It will block all ads/popups if you use apps that have a lot of them. I've been using it for a few weeks and it's blocked nearly 13k ads/trackers.

@Catweazle Is it possible to have the Ublock Filter list
-
@AryanDevasagayaum
Hi, a user post a link to a list where I get 95% blocked in the test from the link of @SwiftyPop
Vivaldi default lists get 83%.https://github.com/StUser4pda/filtrite/releases/latest/download/bromite-4pda.txt
I use this list only now + the Vivaldi partner list.
-
@mib2berlin What do you use to buff the vivaldi adblocker?
Trying to at least as much as possible limit the usage of blocking extensions.
-
@AryanDevasagayaum
I use only this list at moment, ads don´t bother me to much if they are not animated.
95% is enough for me. -
@mib2berlin so you didn't check any other boxes in the custom?
Where did you put that .txt? In the tracker or ads section?
-
@AryanDevasagayaum
I enable the Vivaldi partner list to support Vivaldi and add the list to the ads section.
No other lists enabled. -
-
@Catweazle so I copy and paste this in which section?
Tracker or ads.
Also by using those filters have you seen improvements in vivaldi?
-
@AryanDevasagayaum
Copy the link address, paste it in the dialogue open adding new lists.
I guess these are both ad lists. -
@mib2berlin nothing more to add to the tracker list I suppose?
