@stardust: It seems to expand whatever you do with it, even for some things that it probably shouldn't. Example: if it's collapsed, you hover over it and close a tab from the popup using middle click, the stack expands.
Not cool. I will test it again (in VM currently) with enabled thumbnails.

Does anyone else notice a tab sliding animation, but only when there are few tabs in the window?

No

@stardust To be clear, I mean sliding during drag and drop or close, and only when there are like 5 tabs in the window. And it’s not buggy, I like it, but haven’t noticed it before.
-
@code3 I haven't noticed
I dislike the current tab sliding animation when you reordering tabs. -
I was using 4.0 RC 1 prior to this build and when I would middle click a bookmark in the bookmark bar it would open a new tab, this new build replaces the current tab. I can't seem to find a setting to stop this from happening.

[New][Windows][Autoupdate] Enable silent updates for single user and standalone installs (VB-76202)
Does the above new feature also include All Users install as well?
-
The accordion is a nice feature. I'm experimenting.

Another problem I found is the expand/shrink button. It's too thin. Increase its width to somewhere between 25px and 30px.
In addition to that, the button shifts when you click on it. I wish it stayed at exactly the same position. macOS 11.4.

I don't have any auto update option. I tried with standalone, peruser and allusers option and still does not get it.
Vivaldi 4.1.2328.3 (Official Build) (32-bit) -
@arcsnim: The per user install was the only one I saw that put anything in the Windows Task Scheduler and it was the update notifier.
-
@woefulnarvik: Not yet, which is specifically why that was not mentioned
-
@arcsnim: You will not be able to see this until there is another update.
-
@killchain They are disabled by default. Go to Settings, Keyboard, to enable them.
-
@thedragonreborn That seems to be different to the last Stable build. Looks like a bug. Ctrl+Click still opens it in a new background tab.
There is Settings, Bookmarks:
Open Bookmarks in a New TabThat will force bookmarks to open in a new tab with Middle-click, but it should open in a new background tab to be consistent. Ctrl+Click still opens in a new background tab.
-
Since new Speed Dial design few versions ago, the opening animation is struggling on first click on any folder. After first lagged animation, furthermore opening/closing animation is smooth, even after restart of browser. Even on very strong CPU.
-
@code3 Oh nice! I hadn’t noticed, but yeah they do slide like they did before. Great that this is back.
But just like before, the animation stops working when there are too many tabs.

I have a bookmark on my bookmark bar:
vivaldi://restart
that no longer works. Enteringvivaldi://restart
in the URL field and pressing Enter still works as expected. The Nickname "r" also fails.
-
@pesala: Sorry for not being clear. This is an update, not a clean installation, plus I tried toggling them like 10 times before writing this, plus they were enabled before.

I really like the updated tab re-arranging. Moving tabs is a lot smoother now. And, results in a lot fewer instances of missing the target when moving tabs. In previous versions I found dragging tabs a long the tab bar to be very sensitive. It's so much better now.
