(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

Pls add Sessions Panel to Vivaldi Sidebar.

Another useful feature I got with Stylish Firefox extension: a user style that Replaces a Tab Icon with Close button. Very comfy, if you have many tabs open, so Close buttons aren't visible until you make the tab active. With this style, you just hover the tab icon, and Close button is shown in place of the Tab Icon, so you click it and close the tab regardless how short it is. Elegant and convenient productivity improvement.

Speed Dial improvements.
-
I'm not sure where to write this.
So Speed Dial page has bookmarks tab, which is very nice and useful. But after I scroll down through a list of my bookmarks and then switch to another tab and back, scroll position is not saved, and it's back at top of the page. So, I would be glad if this tab had the same behaviour as web pages, and displayed bookmarks from the same position it is left. -
i would like to add that an option to customize the buttons and position of the element inside of the address bar would be great (something that old opera and firefox do very well)
I really like the TAB position options, but something its missing i would suggest to add a TAB option below the ADDRESS BAR so that the menu bar option combine better i really miss that option of every single chromium browser that only allows TAB above address bar and not below

Greetings, I am not sure if I should post this here or in the Piriform forum. Could you make Vivaldi compatible with CCleaner?
Specifically, I'd like to be able to erase the history, cookies, cache, passwords, etc. using CCleaner.
PS: Is it possible to use Adobe Acrobat PDF Viewer instead of Chromium PDF Viewer with Vivaldi?
Thanks

1. Browsing history item on the side panel
2. Context menu -> Open link in background window
(in pair with the one for opening in background tab)3. Warn user if closing browser with two or more tabs opened
(at least when browser opening is set to something different than last session)4. Context menu over an image -> Image Properties
(this is different than Inspect Element)I am one of those who never use tabs (or use them only by mistake). I know there is a setting to show/hide tab bar, which is nice, except that I don't understand what happens with the tabs (i.e. where do you find them) when there is more than one opened. So I suppose the show/hide tab bar option should work only when only one tab is opened (similar to Hide tab bar with one tab extension from Firefox).
Other than that, a very pleasant experience
And congrats to the Romanian translator -
i can't use vivaldi while these functions missing:
- import bookmarks from new&old opera
- import speed dial from new&old opera
I'm not sure about the notes & passwords, but at least this is already possible. When you go to the menu (Vivaldi icon in top left corner) and then to "File > Import data" you can import your bookmarks among others. If you're using new Opera, this will include a folder "Speed Dial" for sure.
You can now replace the content of Vivaldis current Speed Dial Folder with the bookmarks of the imported folder.~Oneric

Right click - Open in new tab/background tab open next to the right of previous tab. Not the end/most right of the tab.

Greetings, again
I have really enjoyed using Vivaldi. I'll stop using it temporarily because I want to be able to use the Java Plugin
Thanks

Wow is this thing fast! (on W7-64 anyway)
I'd messed with a few of the snapshots and been impressed but it was obvious a lot more work was needed.
The newest beta however is a completely usable browser and I can actually abandon my increasingly creaky and cranky old Opera 12.17
The things I miss:
1. A "vivaldi button" like the old Opera button to access the menus & whatnot. (The "settings" button is only visible when the panel is open)(just spotted that this appears if menu disabled. excellent)
2. The ability to switch off speed dial altogether (I really really dislike speeddials)
3. Really configurable toolbars - the old Opera facility to create a toolbar with frequently used functions and bookmarks was a godsend for me, for instance.
4. Skinning – I always used a breeze microflat to give acres of screen real-estate for instance. I'm not geek enough to make my own skins, but a skin repository would be extremely cool.
5. Ability to open a tab without content - not the home page, not an evil speedial, just a blank page.
6. A shortcut for "refresh all tabs" - Ctrl-F5 in Opera 12 does this. I can't find an equivalent in V.
7. Configurable right-click context menu (e.g so I can pass a selection to a choice of search engines, not just a default search engine)anyhoo, I'm otherwise very happy with Vivaldi right now. I assume it can only get better ...

could you implement an right click menu entry to open href links directly into incognito mode?
My standard settings are far stricter than the incognito mode, but sometimes I need a way to just have a site working right now and that's when it goes into incognito mode.
The necessity of copying, crtl + shift + n and crtl + v kills every workflow.
Also incredible nice, would be faster way of overwriting the user-agent for special sites e.g. souncloud where you can play the audiofiles via html5 when spoofing the right user-agent.

one (hopefully) easy request (yeah, I like all want a fully customisable interface and an email client) in between:
Could you enable tab minimizing?
I often open dozens of links in the background and then sort through them by closing unhelpful sites and minimizing helpful ones for a detailed look latter on. This is currently impossible with Vivaldi.

Back in Opera 12, one of my favourite things was being able to assign whatever shortcut I wanted to whatever action I could think of. One of the most convenient of these was to be able to close the current tab, and then switch to the tab to the left, or the right, by choice. For this, I set Ctrl+Q to "Close tab & Switch to previous tab" and Ctrl+W to "Close tab & Switch to next tab". You cannot imagine how helpful those two shortcuts were, especially after having opened dozens of tabs and then wanting to clear out the clutter. Therefore, I hope that you implement similar keyboard shortcut options, or perhaps just come up with keyboard shortcuts for these two actions specifically. Thank you!

Hello,
really missing:- multi-row tabs
- wrap/unwrap tab groups
- zoom in/out with ctrl+mouseweel
- sessions

I have been following Vivaldi for quite some time now, and think that it has come quite a ways from when it was in early alpha. Even so, there are still features I would like to see implemented if possible.
[ol]
- In speed dial, you should be able to move dials to predefined places on the page. For example, placing all the dials on the bottom row. Also, you should be able to set transparency of thumbnails.
- Advanced search. I believe the Yandex browser is the only browser to ever implement this. Basically, the search can auto complete and skip words in sentences which is really helpful if you don't know exactly the phrase you are looking for. You can still mark 'Exact Match' to go back to the standard search.
- When hidden, the panel should not open up to display downloads.
- When the panel is expanded to view bookmarks/downloads/etc, there should be an option for it to act as an overlay instead of inline with the site.
- Ability to close tabs left and right in the context menu.
[/ol]
Thank you for hearing my requests, and I look forward to the continued progress of Vivaldi.

Request: An option to never show bookmarks in the list when typing in address bar.
Additionally an option to never use bookmarks for auto-completion.
Why? I use bookmarks for archival a lot and I don't want them to show up, I mainly use history for quickly going to a previously visited site but that gets harder when tons of bookmarks are in the way.. Also lots and lots and lots of porn bookmarks, don't want them to show when typing in the address bar, no one else has access to this computer but me so it's not for that reason, I just don't want them to be in the way of actual things I'm looking for, which are never bookmarks when I'm typing in the address bar. -
Pls add History Panel to Sidebar.
Currently History is only reachable from a new empty tab. Quite often its needed to quickly look through several now closed previously viewed tabs without opening a new tab for each and going back-n-force from history to tab content to history again. The most convenient way is browsing History from Sidebar in the same open tab.

I don't know if this is a missing feature, intentional or a settings issue, but I want the ability for a page to open up a popup in a separate window.
Here's the specific page that prompts this request: http://www.cbsnews.com/live/.
If I click on "Pop-Out" in a certain competing browser. I get a small window that displays streaming video. That's the expected behavior and what I want.
In Vivaldi, I get the small video in the same tab as I'm using. I'm unable to move the video around the desktop.
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04. I haven't tried this in Windows.
