Why can't you still use chrome extensions? Kiwi supports them Vivaldi doesn't? why?
-
I've taken to using Firefox on Android or Kiwi simply because of extensions, from what is fairly decent about the Vivaldi mobile version the lack of being able to use extensions especially ones like Stylish for fixing ugly and garbage looking websites on mobile. Its a serious disappointment especially for power user browser like this, if you're going to not allow users to use extensions then at least support the features of popular addons.
Frankly it seems sus a solo dev like behind Kiwi can achieve it but the team behind Vivaldi don't... why?
modedit Moved, was not a valid feature request.

Will do, it seems that is growing thread of votes for extension support to be added /(unlocked).. if only votes mattered right.

@Koolio Main issue is this. Kiwi extension support rely on older chromium codebase, actually.
Most chromium devs should join together to mantain this cool feature updated to the current branches (stable&beta).
But g00gle - which is its major contributor - is not really interested in it so, sadly, we won't see it soon. -
@Hadden89 I see, well its not like they ever bother adding much useful between most these version increases.. chromium 70 and 80 isn't a huge difference.... still g000ble has been given all the power to screw over the world and internet, thanks to so many people blindly handing them over so much power and contributing to there monopoly....
I'm sure it will eventually come to the point where they have turned everything into shit, and then people might decide to actually work together on something better.. if it isn't to late.

But a lot of people will complain about missing security updates. And in some cases they could have right. So we will lose even more users in this way.

We can only hope for that as users. About BigG... Almost no-one is a big fan of they, here. But forking the codebase for a better blink - or something similar - need a big foundation of chromium developers, which is something that smaller devs like Vivaldi alone can't do.

Well... anyone using google products already has already accepted a security and privacy risk, same with MS windows really. I wouldn't even really use a chromium clone browser if it wasn't for the fact I do web dev and its pretty much required. And mozilla are pretty much useless google followers these days.
What I don't get is there a half a dozen web browsers now all using the chromium source for there own browser clone (so far vivaldi are really the only ones who put much effort into the actual browser experience being less rubbish, others like brave etc all have some ulterior motivations where you can see they don't really give a crap about user experience etc and are just not as good in total features customization as vivaldi) but why they don't all come together to support a system and fork that isn't gimped by google, they really should start moving it away from them.
