Vivaldi fires up performance

@amgine: Additionally, VB-56590 seems to be a related bug. Forum posts with that ID specifically mention the Ctrl+R and F5 reload shortcuts have caused the same issue when the developer tools are open.

How does "Silent download of updates" work? All I see in Settings is the usual "Notify About Updates." Is that how it's controlled? I saw the note about it not being able to be tested until the next release, but I'm just looking for how to disable it, if it's even enabled (I can't tell). I thought it might be a Scheduled Task, but I don't see that, either.

Can the display of "Show Popup Thumbnails" be delayed? Because when the mouse moves over other "tab stacks", "Show Popup Thumbnails" often pops up quickly and obscures the tabs in the current "tab stack".

I just had a crash while watching a YouTube video. Don't recall that happening with any of the snapshots, so may have been introduced with one of the release candidates.Never mind, I don't think this had anything to do with Vivaldi. I think an update to GlassWire is causing system instability.

@Pesala thanks for answer. I know that earlier this command only took seconds as values. But read these two sentences, one from the changelog and the other from the blog post:
[New][Quick Commands] Parse the periodic reload values: single quote for minutes and double for seconds (VB-72281)
Also, you can periodically reload websites through Quick Commands. Just type “Periodic reload 2”, press enter and the tab will reload every 2 mins.
For me, it is clear that if I enter the
Periodic reload 2
, the page will be reloaded every 2 minutes and it does not happen.By the way, i think that setting your own auto-refresh time is unclear to the common user. I am also looking forward to custom Periodic Reload for web panels

@chrisfr06 The box should expand on X axis depending on the shown filename, lately it got a limited X size so it is drawing buttons on multiple lines. The X window size should be the limit.

@szczyputek Please read the help file:
There are two ways to enter the time interval. For example, to reload the tab every one and a half minutes, type the time either in seconds “Periodic Reload 90” or “Periodic Reload 1’30” ” (single quote for minutes and double for seconds).

I LOVE VIVALDI

I love Vivaldi

@Pesala You're right. The blog post is misleading because the example is missing single quote. My fault
-
@jan-ripper i had this behavior also. Backup vivaldi data and clean install , solved the issue for me
-
@masterleo29 Nvm, it's an option now. Of course xD

@boruta Answered by Vivaldi over on Reddit: "No, any chromium-based performance improvements are on top of the work we've done."

Nickname completion in the address bar completely broke my workflow.
For example, if I type 'y' I don't want it to be completed to another nickname that starts with 'y'. I hope this would be fixed soon. -
Nice release, but please fix click to call. https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/native-hardware/click-to-call It's an open issue for more than a year https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/43593/tel-links-don-t-work-anymore/18?_=1616105151297
Our web based CRM uses those click to call links a lot. -
Is this new tab moving behaviour with the dashed placeholder really necessary? Sliding tabs were much more nice.

I wish I could flip (mirror) images natively in Vivaldi.

@gwen-dragon: We do translate the page into a few languages, including German. If you have Vivaldi.com in your own language and a translation is available, you'll see it automatically. Depending on the availability of our translators, the translations may come in with a small delay, though. But you can always access the page from the main Vivaldi.com menu > Desktop/Android > What's New. No need to wait for a big release or go looking for the link in your History.

When right-clicking on gifs there was on option "show control elements"("Steuerungselemente anzeigen" in German). This option seems to be missing in the this version.
Is there a way to re-enable it? (I can't find in the settings where you can edit the context menu).
