Tab, menu and Speed Dial fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2218.3

@felagund The feeds panel was added, so presumably the icon order was reset to the default. Users can change the order with Shift+Drag.

@ruarí: For what it's worth, I really love having M3 in my browser and kissing goodbye to M2, but it does feel a little unreliable.
Some e-mails are not displayed (VB-76859 and VB-77330), EML-attachment handling is abysmal (VB-77333, VB-77332), some sent mails were missing altogether (VB-75969 - but I think that stopped happening since 3.7, but I am not sure, it was a random thing). and since last snapshot (but not this morning's), new mail from my new account would not hit the "unread" folder unless I would rerun the "rerun filter for folder" https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/57512/email-missing-can-they-be-refetched ).
It mostly works but there, it seems to me, is a lot of little bugs all over. It is a technical preview so I am not complaining and it is still better than M2 (whose handling of EML attachments was bad too), but I think it needs a bit of bug-fixing. I am not in a habbit of checking in my webmails if I got all e-mails, something I was not doing with M2.

@pesala: Does not work. Shit+click paints a blue rectangle over the clicked favicon in the panel but I cannot drag it anywhere. Does it work for you? I am on Linux if that makes a difference...

Try Shift+Click . Of course it works for me. See my sig.
The feature request Reorganize Panels Drag and drop is tagged as DONE so I assume that it should work with Linux too.
-
Possible bug (confirmation needed) - invisible search engine name on the list in the settings when more than 12 search engines.
-
@felagund On Wayland D&D doesn’t work yet (at least for me, testing in kiwmi & sway).
-
@pesala: Ok, I restarted Vivaldi and now it works but I swear it did not work before that (I was holding shift while clicking and trying to drag it). I am typing here through the blog entry so I do not see your signature.
-
@Pesala yes, it is what I did. but a bug is a bug is a bug.
-
@ruarí: 4 IMAP accounts here, update worked just fine, no problem.
EDIT except that I like to have the mail panel at the top and it somehow moved below downloads, history, notes and tabs, and I don't know how to get it back up there
-
getting an invalid certificate error NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID with this build on https://webtrading.onvista-bank.de/login whereas Chrome, Firefox and (in a VM) Vivaldi 3.6.2165.3 do not give me a certificate error. Certificate details -> certification path says "certificate status: the certificate is OK".
EDIT: restarted Vivaldi and no more error. Go figure.

What do you mean by that? To move the icons/buttons in the order you wanted them to be?
Just grab them with leftmouse while pressing
shift
. -
@Dancer18 ...I ... didn't know that....
-
@WildEnte It is the same with the web-panels. You just cannot mix them. There is a barrier below the implemented panels (mail, notes, calendar, contacts, bookmarks, history...)
-
@ugly: The interface is a bit rough at this time. Basically you select Opera 12, unclick using the default folder, select the Profile folder and start. It will at this time import all accounts and your contacts. It can take a while with a lot of mails. The mail accounts are imported as inactive and you will need to activate them when this is done. Import progress is displayed in the status bar at this time.

It did not import any of my contacts. Is this a bug?
-
@Pesala Can confirm the "0" account. It funnily also imported a single IRC server for me.
Observations
- I could not see any information about the import process in the progress bar.
- Only a single account was imported, not sure if it needs a fresh profile
- Local folders were not imported at all
edit: Deleted the IRC account and the "0" vanished. But I still do not know what exactly one is supposed to do in order to get the account added (or maybe it's just buggy). Selecting
~/.opera/
should be correct, or not? -

Updated fine -
just wanted to jump in here and say that you've made my entire year by creating a Feeds Panel. It doesn't work but I don't care, I'm happy.
BTW, the Feeds icon is slightly bigger than the rest... I think it's squished up a bit, isn't it?

Ctrl + F2 "Panels" =

Yes, that sounds like a bug. I got all my contacts.
Overall the new import code is still unfinished. Your feedback on issues is very valuable. Please report a bug on this issue and give us as much details as possible.
