date and time not correct
-
I installed Vivaldi on my other laptop today, and it is not displaying the correct time.
How do I correct the time and the settings. -
@james40 Vivaldi uses your OS' settings for time and date. Does your OS display the correct time?
But check your settings under General > Language.
-
Hello Pathduck:
I did all that you said to do. Went to General, Settings, Language, and it is set to English (US) and inherit from the operating system, that's the time. Saved Language, settings etc and restarted Vivaldi and the computer. The time on my another laptop with Vivaldi with the same settings is correct, but strangely, I can't seem to have this another laptop corrected with the same time, as in the OS time. The Vivaldi time on that laptop is showing one (1) hour ahead, always.
I wonder what could be the problem here. Advise -
@james40 OK just to make it clear we're on the same page here: You're talking about the Vivaldi clock on the bottom right? And the time shown under "Preferred Date & Time Format" which should be the same?
Not the time on websites?
Do these sites show the correct time?
https://time.is
http://clock.zoneAre you able to make a screenshot of this discrepancy to make it clearer?
What exactly is your OS' timezone settings? Maybe I can try to reproduce it.
I don't really have any other ideas, apart from going through the troubleshooting guide:
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/troubleshooting-issues/
It might be an extension or something in your profile. -
@Pathduck “Inherit from Operating System” only influences the formatting, not the actual time. Time will always be queried from the operating system. Vivaldi can’t display time and date independently in the UI.
In my opinion something must be wrong with the timezone setting in the operating system.
edit: oh, you said that in your later post ^^

I have updated to the latest - 3.4.2066.99 and I discovered that this problem has gone away on my Dell laptop.
So it looks like a Vivaldi issue that has now been corrected. -
If it WAS corrected in version 3.4.2066.99 it is re-introduced in version 3.6.2165.34 (Stable channel) (64-bit).
Yes timezone is correct in OS (UTC+8 Perth)
Yes the time IS shown correctly at https://time.is (shown as Time in Perth, Australia)
NO the time is not shown correctly at http://clock.zone (displays GMT-08:00)
NO the time is not displayed correctly in Vivaldi (ALSO displays GMT-08:00)
I'll see if reverting to an older build makes it go away - never happened before, wierd! -
Time is displayed correctly in previous version 3.5.2115.87 (Stable channel) (64-bit) but bug re-emerges each time it is 'updated' to 3.6.2165.34 (Stable channel) (64-bit).

@Gwen-Dragon OK, (my language is English though)
