Vivaldi refuses to register email address
-
I've been trying to register to test out sync / mail / snapshots - longtime Opera user wayback when, I have a main mail account with hush also dating from the year dot so it's an [email protected] format address your registration process rejects it with 'email not accepted'
Is this hubris? Inverse snobbery / jealousy? Similarly biased against nym addresses? - haven't tried any - protonmail not objected to clearly...
Can't even switch it over after registration - same error.
Anyone any ideas?

When registering a new Vivaldi account, the recovery email you give has to be in a valid email format and can't be already linked to another Vivaldi account.
Also, to combat spam, we don't accept disposable email addresses. -
@jane-n That doesn't address the main issue, I didn't get as far as using a nym. I was using a main address one I've had since hush was a startup! Hence the [email protected] format. Are you trying to suggest all hush addresses are temporary?

I don't know how it's determined whether an email address is a temporary email or not, but hush emails are indeed on the banned email domains list.
-
@jane-n Well they shouldn't be, the disposable pseudonym addresses that can be used for anti spam purposes are always within the nym.hush.com subdomain so a doddle to mask. All @hush.com or @hushmail.com addresses are real and many paid for.
Seems particularly ill conceived and arbitrary given the self same address passes a lookup for automated setup of the client itself...
