I really want the inspector not to be in a separate window. I frequently forget that I have one open and it covers up precious screen space.

Thumbnails are fine
(and they do work since the last update or so, so you may want to get one of the latest versions, or otherwise see why it does not work for you)

But your suggestion looks extra cool. Probably not high priority, but a definite must I say.

I just tried Vivaldi browser on Linux and i really miss following things:

I've enabled tabs at the bottom. The problem is that they're not tied to the bottom (so I can't just move mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen and click on tab).
[Favorite sites shown by the click on the address bar (instead of separate favorites bar). For example you can check Apple's Safari,[li]
- For some reason, when I click on buttons of the message editor (at this forum), I can't undo effect of the button by pressing Ctrl-Z. May be it's a forum's bug, not the browser.
I can't change encoding of the page
I can't edit address of the bookmarks on the favorites bar. Also I can't add new favorites just by drag'n'drop to the bar or by right-clicking the bar.

It would be better if Vivaldi will have an option to keep all tabs colored, not just the current.
I think also would be better if the browser will have an option to switch between native and Vivaldi's toolbar (File, Edit, View and so on) like it now have for the window controls

Thank you. Atm I will go back to the Yandex browser. Nevertheless it looks not so good but now it's more useful.

Vivaldi meet all my needs right now except for three features.

#1: The ability to use Unity Web Plugin. It is required for some of the games I play. Currently it is working on the Mac (10.10.5) version of Vivaldi, but not Windows (7).
#2: The ability to open the pages saved on your speed dial with a keyboard shortcut like in Opera 12. With commands such as CTRL+1, CTRL+2, etc.
#3: Being able to edit the speed dial thumbnails (the square previews of the pages on the speed dial page) without having to go to /users/username/AppData/Local/Vivaldi/User Data/Default and opening the Bookmarks folder and editing file. Which I might add does not work on Mac, only Windows.

Perhaps the first one is just a bug, could be.
There is also one more feature that would be nice. Being able to open every page in a bookmarks folder at the same time.

It isn't a bug. It's because of Google deprecating NPAPI (which Unity uses) and it's affecting Vivaldi because of it being based off Chromium. You'll probably have to play them offline or install Firefox.

1. Vivaldi settings > Tabs > Check "Remove Tab Spacing in Maximized Windows." Also toggle the status bar if you haven't already.

5. Paste this into your address bar: "vivaldi://settings/fonts" Scroll down to "Encoding."

6. Use the bookmarks manager in the sidebar or on the new tab page for now.

7. Go to Vivaldi settings > Appearance > Bookmark Bar Display > Make sure "Text and Icon" is checked.

I'm hoping since no-one has said no to the amazing start bar, that it's still a possibility. Not likely for the beta, but maybe in the future? I have my fingers crossed! :silly:

I would love to have many features but here are just a few.
1. The ability to highlight text and have it populate the quick commands text box.
2. The option to open new tabs in the current tab stack they are opened from.
3. The ability to drag and drop the icons all over the place like in Opera.

Use uBlock, Adblock Plus, or some other ad blocker. Vivaldi also has a built-in content blocker which you can enable from the Page Actions dialogue, but I wouldn't really say it's ready to compete with third-party extensions.

Command "Duplicate page" should duplicate whole page with its "History" like in Old Opera.
Duplication is exact copy not only opening last page in new tab.
(Its useful in case if you want left page as is with possibility to go back in time later and on duplicate page go back for few steps and then chose "another way" of surfing.)

Find as you type like Firefox supports it (Opera used to support it by pressing / and typing, but I like the firefox way where you just start typing your search terms)

For now you can do that with some custom CSS. See the short guide below.

Windows: open directory %localappdata%\Vivaldi\Application\1.0.249.12\resources\vivaldi\style

Open "common.css"
At the very top of the file, add:```
@import "custom.css";

5) Paste this code into the file:

Managing Notes.

There never was a proper way for backup and saving notes in Opera (but to backup whole notes.adr). I wish I could save folders and probably import them again, similar to the handling of email-backups.

all these are good requests, which I would like to see as well
Here are some of the wishes from my side:

a) Load the pages from the cache, when opening the browser; or at least do not let the browser refresh the page, when clicking on the "Back" button.
b) Automatically page refreshing by the timer: in the old Opera it was possible to set the time, when the page will be auto-refreshed.
c) "Confirm the exit" setting: would be great to have a customized feature in the Settings, where by exiting the browser, there would be a confirmation window appeared, with the text like "Are you sure you want to exit?" (exit by default in 20 seconds).
d) "When closing a tab, going to the next tab" - another customized feature should be useful in the Settings: Explanation: in total there are 10 opened tabs, I'm watching the 7th tab, when closing it, I'm going the the tab, which was the 8th before closing the 7th one.
e) "Notes should be possible to paste into any field": The browser has "Notes", but how to paste them into a field? In the old Opera it was convenient to insert a note by clicking with the Right Button and selecting a necessary note.
f) In the "Downloads" the current speed and the remaining time should be shown.
g) A popup or a sound, notifying of the successfully downloaded file, will be appreciated.

By the way, does someone know, how to refresh all the opened tabs in Vivaldi? Ctrl+F5 doesn't help
