@Steffie Crucifixion? Good!
Btw, it seems you desperately want me to be crucified:
Probably will just get away with a light crucifixion then.
:face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:
-
@hlehyaric Heehee, but don't worry, it's nothing personal, just company policy. Soooo, remember, one cross each then out the door & line up.
-
I understand my post sounds very méthode Coué, but I really think nothing will change and I know I can't «exercise rigorous self-control» even if it leads me to a cross, while whistling of course.
So, what shall we do? We are still posting here anyway…

Or the current Opera forum…
What is happening there?
-
@hlehyaric Hmmm, so much for your method:
Émile Coué de la Châtaigneraie (French: [emil kue də la ʃɑtɛɲʁɛ]; ... was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion.
And yet...
Died July 2, 1926 (aged 69)
What a quack!
So, what shall we do?
Well, let's see if anything pops up...
@Gaëlle
@Gaëlle
@Gaëlle -
@Stardust Nothing. I find it rather boring, that's all; but it's just my own point of view.
-
@hlehyaric okay (and sorry for offtop)
-
@Steffie You're unbelievable .
Maybe, there's a solution : let's post Vogon poetry instead of OT in Snapshot threads and see what happens…

@hlehyaric said in More fixes and another minor Chromium bump – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2088.7:
poetry
poetry about Snapshot?
How about haiku? -
@hlehyaric I know you mentioned it t'other day, & i realised you were implying that it was Not A Good Place, and i acknowledge that the following is probably juvenile, but ever since "Opera" poked a finger in the eye of its original user-base, & then was sold to a Chinese investor group [ie, legally obliged to provide any requested assistance to PRC govt], i have steadfastly held to my personal policy of:
- Not installing "Opera".
- Not visiting its website.
I used to be so passionate about that name, but now it is as nothing to me.
-
@Stardust Vogon poetry. It's a little bit different than haiku (though I really appreciate haiku and Japanese poetry).
-
@Steffie Once in a quarter, I take a glimpse there to see if they have the same issues as we have, cause it's a chromium-based browser, and some people come here and say «Opera, wonderful, blabla». Nothing to be impressed of. I don't use the browser nor have it installed.
-
@hlehyaric Sorry, was out in kitchen making some elevenses; back now.
You're unbelievable
Well, i simply refuse to believe you.
let's post Vogon poetry
OMZ, now finally we see deep into your soul, & realise the unmitigated malevolence lurking within! Up to now you were carrying off your guise as a Not Monster so very well...
Damn fine idea, mind you!

Never mind. I always have my towel & my copy of the Guide at hand. Nothing bad can happen to me. Except a bowl of petunias?
-
@hlehyaric IMO the poor old whale had it worse! Count your blessings.:face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

Please man, don't scare us in the middle of the night! :face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:
:face_with_cold_sweat: last time I checked (about some half a year or sthg) it's the same as in the previous half of a year, which is the same as the pre-previous half, which is actually what it is years now, namely a sad, cobwebbed place with no people, no sense of community, no fun, the old tradition of First! burried, forgotten and unknown (naturally migrated here), no light-hearted community-dev interaction, no Jon, no moderation except for the old and very known to oldtimers here, in-house fan troll, who can drive anyone crazy seeing black instead of white, individuals that come and go here as well asking why that Chinopera feature or their pet bug isn't in/already fixed in Vivaldi, like they are used to doing there on every occasion, and with 1-2? people constantly whining/complaining about the... wrong direction Chinopera is heading for about 7 years now? -ORLY-, and their pet bugs that aren't fixed.
Seriously between the 2, I prefer Arch's forum anytime. At least there is life there and an actual community, while the Chinopera forum is a case study for the Stockholm syndrome and human (troll) behavioural observation in general...
-
@Steffie You shouldn't have mentioned Gaëlle. I'm afraid she would be quite desperate seeing what we have done of this thread…
-
@npro It's not the middle of the night for everyone, you know .
I never promoted Opera forum, au contraire I clearly stated I find it a boring place. TBH, a boring hellish place! I'm not registered there, God forbid.
-
@hlehyaric I tried to resist, but what could i do, given that https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/415913 and https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/415915 ?

Heehee. That said... OMZ, your characterisation of
that other place
sounds pretty ghastly. I have no reason to disbelieve you, even though it's lazy of me not to check it out myself, because in my mind's eye what you wrote seems a logical extrapolation of how depressingly pointless it had become all those years back when i left it [or more accurately, for a looooong time even before i gave up & exited].
I am definitely not going to become one of the sometimes whiners in our V forum mindlessly whingeing about the lack of Snapshot, as simple commonsense & historical awareness makes it easy to grasp that this current delay can only mean one thing - the poor Devs are having a rotten time fighting with some new chromia diabolica. That said, i am surprised at my psychological reaction now & for the past day -- i've never had a substance-abuse problem thus never experienced any cold-turkey withdrawal symptoms, but in a small way this now feels to me a bit like i imagine that might feel like. It's quite discombobulating & distracting [i actually feel physically fidgety & have trouble concentrating on other stuff], & i really don't like it. Ha, i need to reconsider my life choices...
-
@hlehyaric I know what you 've meant from the very beginning, now and before, and I applauded and augmented that /added: but if you don't believe me, I will not stop @Steffie from crucifying you (I'm reading that right now )
