@jon so a vivaldi://experiment
@Hadden89 , that is an option. We are discussing how to do this exactly.

Or a flag.

@jon This afternoon i shall uninstall Thunderbird, then wait...
No pressure.

@TheQuantumAlpha I have to wait M4 for that (my spam account really need thunderbird filters).
But the others two can go with Vivaldi ^^ One even in TP phase. -
@Hadden89 Any word on M4?

@jon You know @Steffie . She has the driest sense of humor this side of the Sahara.
Indeed.
But we are getting closer now.

I wonder what the next "big thing" will be to stir Vivaldi user anticipation at anywhere near the level that M3 has seen?
vivaldi://calendar will hopefully become a focus of the team, but it cannot think of anything that will level the interest of users. I doubt that an integrated IRC or BitTorrent client would.

@Ayespy said in Any word on M3? (internal mail client):
That would be an inaccurate prediction. You need to clean your crystal ball.
Prove the opposite.
-
@Codehunter You'll just have to watch the future unfold, won't you?

After a five year mission through the undiscovered country my feets are wound, my ears are aching from the birds thunder, my eyes are red about the many many words written about M3 and my faith in the many announcements has flown away.
Please dont misunderstand me. This isn't bashing. This is resignation.
-
@Codehunter It is closer to six years than five:
TechCrunch: (January 27th 2015):
βThe former CEO of Opera, Jon von Tetzchner, has released the Vivaldi Browser for fans of the old Opera. This initial release is a Technical Preview, i.e. it is neither feature complete, nor free from bugs that might spoil your day. It uses the Chromium rendering engine like the new Opera 38. It already has Panels, Tab-stacking, Notes, Speed Dial, and Customisable shortcuts and Tabs. Built-in email is planned, but mail is limited to web mail at the moment.β -
I don't really see a reason to complain about, except for statements that sounded like M3 was coming a lot sooner.
It would have been probably been nice to have M3 by now, but M2 is still running like a charm, and from my requirements it is just missing few features for signing and encrypting messages, which will hopefully be included in M3 at some point.
I agree that it takes an exceptionally long time, but nothing has really been taken from us, has it? I'm generally excited about M3 if not hyped even, and hope not to be discouraged, but even if, M2 will continue to work.
I'm happy that someone is still trying to make a decent browser after all. I could not use Vivaldi for the first 3 years or so, and I still believe that presto is superior to blink in many ways, but I see advantages in using Vivaldi over by opera now, and I expect that M3 will give advantages over M2 as well. What'd have been the point of releasing M3 in a state where it was inferior?

Accepted. Good luck in your next employment.

The Calendar is also being worked out. Should be out this month as well, as a TP.
-
@Gwen-Dragon If M3 can come out, can also exit the calendar, it seems more ready than M3.
Maybe they will be accompanied by something else.
