first
thanks a lot for the shiny new version.

Surprise release
-
Unfortunately the problem with the synchronization is still not resolved
Upload: "Conflict with another client's data occurred" or "Network error"
-
@Furax31 sorry for the trouble, have you already submitted a bug report about it? If not before doing it, please try to log out and log in again. If that doesn't help, please file a bug report following the instructions we give here: https://help.vivaldi.com/article/troubleshoot-sync-issues/
Thanks for being patient with us -
@Gaëlle Yes I already reported this bug several weeks ago, a developer replied that it was in their "pipeline".

@kened great questions!
Our revenue model is based on searches performed but on the ads people click on. Also it's hard to say if the revenue is higher when clicking on an ad on Bing or Startpage. In any case thanks for supporting us by using our partners.

Love the pop-out video feature.
Would like to see bigger control buttons (play/pause) over entire pop-out maybe?
Also why the pop-out is being dimmed when I hover over?
And maybe pick a size of the pop-out? Have to size it up every time I use it -
Thanks for also updating Snapshots when Stable is released!
-
And you forgot to mention the layout toggle of the Notes manager in the changelog?! For me, that's the greatest news for this version.
-
@Pathduck Thanks for letting me know, no announcement on the snapshot blog or updater popup in systray so far. It updated to .43 by manually checking help/update tho
-
Bravo !!!
-
So im assuming the global media setting in chromium flags has no effect on this..?.
I don't use this personally but i find it odd that the mute button was not included in the original inclusion of this..hobsons choice...?
Not to try and shit on the parade but a mute button is hardly a ground breaking feature and sort of sounds like a gimmick but it is nice that security fixes are included.
But yes well done.
-
Thanks a lot. I like the way Vivaldi is evolving.
-
@Gaëlle So, to support you we should click on the ads in your search partners?
-
Thanks for the update! I don't know if it's just me but when using a dual monitor setup, when I drag the pop-out video window to my second monitor and I try to scale it from the left side of the window, the whole window moves towards the right and going on the right monitor.
-
@Gaëlle On the topic of search engines: I just checked the URLs of the default engines in stable, and there's a change in Ecosia from what I have in my install:
Stable has:
https://www.ecosia.org/search?tt=a1b7da50&q=%s
My install has:
https://www.ecosia.org/search?tt=vivaldi&q=%s
Have they started with hashes instead, and should we change it to send the correct parameters?
-
@plovec yes thank you
-
Realy need audio volume control into PiP [Pop-out video] window.
-
23rd updated
-
@priest72: Yeah, this Video P-i-P was totally useless at first, couldn't change window size and couldn't maximize or pause with left click. important features imo would be
- a global window overview (all windows, not just the active)
- a close tab button in this window overview
- not to freeze with many tabs (50-100+) i.e. on
https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/subscriptions - a tab title/url/text content search
- better performance/responsiveness
- first option right clicking on link should of course be 'Open in Background Tab'
instead. The other is just annoying.
Also i want this new Memory Save Feature of Microsoft Edge at least as Quick Option to save 13% CPU and Ram and to stop my CPU Fan howling up all the time. I prefer enjoying the Silence (Hi, Depeche Mode)!
Seems, Vivaldi is running out of good ideas for new features, but i hope i'm wrong at this! I suggest you to implement a slow cpu and ram mode for older pc/laptops like mine (4gb 2009 laptop with slow 5400 hdd)! a browser shouldn't be more taxing than effin photoshop! all in all i like your philosophy and would prefer to stay on vivaldi!
