One day. Two big Vivaldi browser releases
-
@mossman: Looks like it helped. Thanks.
-
Please add a "search and copy" feature when highlighting over text as in Opera. This would be a big plus for me. I would consider switching from Opera if you had this function in Vivaldi.
-
But window handling is still sub par. Try having two tabs, then dragging out one tab and pinning it to the top of a second screen. Not only does it stay on the same screen you started out at, it certainly doesn't snap up and maximize on the second screen. This may not be a deal breaker to anyone else, but it alone is enough to keep me on Firefox. Which does indeed handle this scenario flawlessly. I do this enough that the other features of Vivaldi just don't make up for the constant aggravation.

Thank you!
And the mail client is in the mail, I presume?
-
@KimmoJ You may be using an old version. It works fine here on the latest Stable and latest Snapshot.

@Gwen-Dragon If Vivaldi added a mail client to the Android browser, it just might be a first for Android. I'm not aware of any Android web browser which includes a built-in mail client.

Hi,
Congrats to the team for the releases. I've just discover Vivaldi which is great. One thing only bother me: could you change the tab shrinking behaviour ?
Discussed in this post:

so many thanks , please add bottom url bar for android apps sooner

Is there a way to be notified if/when Vivaldi makes it possible to stop autoplay? I'd like to try Vivaldi but no autoplay off switch is a deal breaker.

@ivanone
Hi, just curious, wich browser include this feature?Cheers, mib

@JohnConnorBear
Hi, never known, I use Firefox only for testing.
It does not really work, I use Autoplay Stopper extension.
Check https://www.digitaltrends.com/
It is not an KO feature for me anyway but nice to have.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin It would definitely be nice to have. I find auto-play media to be the height of arrogance an selfishness, and an unqualified blight on my browsing experience. Its entire absence would instantly make the world a better place.

On a side note, the last thing I would to is to install an extension to fix an issue that should not exist in first place. Extensions are a necessary evil, not a good thing. See the reasoning behind, you make some software that sucks then you say "don't worry, there are extensions" and until "users" comply with it, the fact that the software sucks in first place is somehow "masked/hidden". Then extensions add even more suck.
Very much after my own philosophy - which is nearly absolutist in its anti-extension stance.

@JohnConnorBear
Hehe, using Linux without third party utilities is impossible, all you use is third party except the kernel.
For Windows I use O&O shut up Windows only.
Some use Add blocker, anti tracking extensions, password manager and so forth with good results in Vivaldi.
Until it is not included or work better I use Privacy Badger and Stop Autoplay.
Anyway, everybody as he/she wishes.Cheers, mib

I just love MY Vivaldi browser. I currently am able to use only my left-hand for all my keyboard skills. After 3 years (with a break for being in a coma) I cannot think of any other browser. For me, Vivaldi is the best. Thank you.
