The Official Vivaldi.net Bug Thread (Not for Vivaldi browser!)
-
I haven't trawled through the previous 19 pages of discussion, so my apologies in advance if these are known issues, but…
The menu header overlay thing on the top of the page ("VIVALDI COMMUNITY Mail Community Blogs Forum Settings") always obscures the first few lines of new comments in the forums. This is especially annoying when you use e.g. middle click to open all forum posts with new replies in the background - when you then go to those pages, the menu overlay actually covers the topic, user name and date of the reply!!!
The second bug when opening forum posts in the background is that the text is the full browser window width instead of the default 1000 pixels or whatever it's supposed to be. This is a minor bug that doesn't really bother me, but it's still a bug so I thought I'd mention it.

Sometimes it is helpful to be able to show tabulated data. Is this possible here using markdown code?

Using Windows 8.1 on a desktop PC. When I open Vivaldi, I often can't move the Window by dragging it. This is intermittent. Just today, I couldn't drag when it first opened, then later on I could, then a few minutes later it had locked into position again.

Sometimes it is helpful to be able to show tabulated data. Is this possible here using markdown code?
I imagine you already tried the post editor "Table" bbCode button (see attached image), but I played around with the button and the resulting bbCode for quite a while, and tried looking it up at Kunena Wiki and Kunena forums, as well as several other markdown sites, and couldn't figure this out at all. :pinch:

Finally, I found this Free BBCode Table Generator Tool where I could plug in your data and it generated the proper code to generate the following table (see spoiler for code):
| Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri |
| 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | 16 |
| 19 | 20 | 21 | 22 | 23 |
| 26 | 27 | 28 | 29 | 30 |On my system the table header weekdays line up properly over the dates when viewed in the post editor preview, but the alignment is off in the final display after I post it, so there may be more work that needs to be done. (…although I think it did align properly when I first posted it ???) Perhaps that problem would go away if I hadn't specified the first row as a header row, but I haven't checked that yet.
Also, AFAICT, there doesn't seem to be a way to force the table to use less than the full width allowed for the forum post.

I am trying to upload images to my blog. I have tried other images, converted to different file types, and tried 4 different browsers, still to no avail. I have also scanned these images with both AVG & Malwarebites: they are not infected.
I have tried uploading a screenshot to attach to my forum messages– still no go.
"There was an error uploading the image.

If it's your blog on Vivaldi.net, there is a known bug with that (uploading images). It's not fixed yet.
-
Thank you for responding. This just started happening a couple of days ago. Any idea what is causing this? Or when I might be able to work on my blog again?
Thanks.
-
Sorry, no idea, really. I've just been reading about this problem on the Team Blog and some of the topics in the forum, so I know it exists and that the developers are aware of it, but I don't even have a blog myself or anything, and nothing has been put forward as a possible cause.
-
I know it exists and that the developers are aware of it
Are they working on it? This is a pretty big issue for a blogging site. I can't work on my blog, and I only have a limited window of opportunity to work on it as it is.
-
If you'd like to bump this up, you can report it on the bug reporter https://vivaldi.com/bugreport.html
-
Thanks. I went there, and it asked me to "replicate" the process. Miraculously, this time it worked!
I appreciate your taking time to help.
-
Yeah. They fixed it today.

The registration procedure for the Vivaldi community presented me with a captcha in Thai (I am in Thailand) instead of English even though I had chosen English as the site language from the flags at the bottom of the page. Fortunately I can read a little Thai or I would not have been able to register at all.

One of my pages does not list in the dashboard, so I have to keep a bookmark or use a search engine.
S.M.A.R.T. Tools - https://vivaldi.net/blogs/entry/s-m-a-r-t-toolsI am guessing it does not like so many full-stops…..
I have tried changing the title to "SMART Tools" but it still does not show. -
Invalid token error still sometimes appearing when log into or log out of Vivaldi.net.
-
Does anyone apart of me miss comments to his blog posts too?
I can still see them in the dashboard but not below the blog posts.Any hints how to get them back where they belong?
-
Hi,
Sorry about the missing comments, we did a big update on our blog system and the comments disappeared.
That issue has been fixed and you should be able to see and comment on blogs again. -
Why am I receiving emails for threads that I replied to?
Subscribe should be off by default, but even if it is on my email settings are off.
-
Probably a regression created when they did the spam fix. Tatsuki needs to go back in and re-set default status to no subscription.
