Minor update (3) for Vivaldi 2.11
-
8th
So many updates in a week, Vivaldi is getting a Chromium shine -
Why not put out an update to optionally disable PiP? If you would pay attention to the forums you would see that a lot of users are not happy about not having the choice in the first place.
-
@Pesala You gain nothing from obsequiously defending the Vivaldi devs for their poor decisions. Why even waste your time to type this post? There are plenty of users who actively dislike the feature and feel that it lowers the quality of their browsing experience.
-
@pesala: for those who complaining like me, is vital for the team to make the proper option.... if someone force you yo use something you dont like or hate, you complaing too...
-
@biguglyboy6 I actually started a thread criticising the developers for their decision.
To release an update with an option to disable this feature would only repeat the same mistake, and divert precious resources.
First, it should be released in the Snapshot release so that we can test it, before releasing an update for the Stable version.
-
@biguglyboy6: ameen to that!
-
@quhno: How to move the pointer to hell?
-
@JohnnyFire I would, and do complain when mistakes are made, but I do not complain any more if told that they were working on a fix for the issue that I dislike, which will be fixed in the next Snapshot.
-
How long for the fix in the snapshot stream as well? Still at .88
-
@Richard21 To remove the pointer on a fullscreen video, stop/start the video (e.g. press spacebar twice), and wait a few seconds.
-
@Ruarí Perfect! I do miss chrome bumpers... great call on that pic!
-
@pesala: It works but annoying.
-
@biguglyboy6 Yes please!
-
@Ruarí Ok Vivaldi… I didn't wanna do this but you've left me no choice »
I am now blocking update.vivaldi.com with my network filter.
Every time I lay back and watch a video in full-screen mode one of those update notifications pops up again and again …Don't you think it would be nice to check for updates ONLY directly after starting the browser and not every 10 minutes!? Also how about auto-updates in the background or maybe the option to disable updates (notifications) ???
I just can't see these update notifications anymore!!!
I've had enough. -
@rogerwilco: I'm sure, but note that v2 will still be there for some time even after v3 is live to allow for a smooth transition. I don't mean just Chrome, but Chromium, and thus Vivaldi, too. Google has not indicated how long this time period will be, but surely it will be some months.
-
@benwagner I don't understand what the issue is. In Settings, Updates you can disable Notify About Updates then just check manually whenever you wish.
-
@biguglyboy6: I'm not one of them. The Chrome alternative of desperately right-clicking on regions within the player so you can access the P-in-P function is far more annoying. Agree it could be moved to the top-right corner, but leave it in.
-
Hi @Pesala I can not find any settings for updates.
Could you post a screenshot? -
Unchecking the box disables the Update Agent. Then you should look in the Help Menu from time to time to check for updates or if you have the latest version. If not, then you are offered the possibility to download and update Vivaldi.
Here in the forum you will also be informed immediately if there is an update. -
@quhno: No.
