You can't make them floating unfortunately as I've tried to hack a way for some time now. Chrome removed the baked in ones so using Stylus is now the only option
Since this isn't the place for this discussion I've created a thread over here https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/44072/scrollbars-themed-or-hidden that might be of interest.

I've been getting a black screen on some websites (mostly youtube) ever since the Chromium 80 snapshot.
Entire UI, top to bottom, seems to crash. The browser does not freeze. I can still click around and switch to other tabs. If I do switch to another tab, everything is visible again. If I switch back to the offending tab, complete blackness once more.

Radeon 5700 XT w/ Adrenalin 20.2.1 (has been happening with previous drivers as well)Disabling hardware acceleration from the settings menu resolves the issue.

@blackguard That was happening to me last night as well on YouTube. Some videos triggered it, others did not. Switching tabs brought the UI back, but it disappears again immediately if the malfunctioning url is entered again.

@pesala: I'm replying in the comments section of the snapshot post on vivaldi.com/blog - not in the forums. There is an edit button but it throws errors when attempting to edit. It worked when I made the initial comment, but not later on.

Developer tools are still broken without setting "Disable paused state overlay". Also as soon as a breakpoint is hit, the whole browser freezes for a short period of time.
