No search suggestions in the search bar, although activated

Although I have activated search suggestions in the search bar in the search settings, none are displayed. Why is this the case?

Do you have a valid suggest URL set for the search engine you use?

@potmeklecbohdan Yes, I use the search engine Ecosia pre-installed in Vivaldi, as my default search engine. Search suggestions are enabled in the Ecosia preferences:

Ecosia for me doesn't have any Suggest URL set in search setting, hence no suggestions from it can be given.

You have to add this to your Ecosia search engine entry as Suggest URL:

https://ac.ecosia.org/autocomplete?q=%s&type=list

I am using Vivaldi 2.10.1745.23 (Stable channel) (64-bit), I just deleted all browser data. No change.

@stardepp What method did you use to "delete all browser data?"

Vivaldi, as installed clean, has search suggestions for several of the search engines, NOT including Ecosia, Google or Yahoo.

That said, putting https://ac.ecosia.org/autocomplete?q=%s&type=list in the suggest URL field for Ecosia is "supposed to" give you suggestions for Ecosia. I have not tried it.

@Ayespy I deleted the browser data with both: [vivaldi://settings/clearBrowserData] and about this: File>Tools>Delete Browser Data .

Vivaldi Einstellungen → Suche → Ecosia anklicken, Feld "URL Der Suchvervollständigung"

Great, now it works I repeat myself but it is very good to know that in the Vivaldi Forum you always get very fast and professional support
