Vivaldi for Android Beta Not Working With Chromebook

This user posted a problem seeking help 26 days ago. @Ayespy are you saying it is impossible for us to get Vivaldi to work on Chromebooks? Why is this the only android app that doesn't work? The only android browser that only works? Even mobile browsers on Chrome OS doesn't work? Why does Vivaldi have to be the weird one that doesn't? I mean, it downloads, it installs. The only problem is, it doesn't successfully navigate to a webpage. This is the problem I'm currently facing when I attempt to navigate to a page:
I tried all the suggestions (opening in a private tab, restarting the browser, restarting my device) none of which worked. In fact the only thing that is not working is the internet connectivity.

@bwpbruce It will require additional, non-trivial coding to make it work properly on tablets, and to work at all on Chrome OS. Why? because unlike all other Android mobile browsers, it is not a skin of the embedded system browser. If it were, it could not have the features it has, nor the additional features that will be added.

@Ayespy It already works on my tablet. How come 99% of all other Google Play apps work on Chrome OS but not this one?
-
@bwpbruce It works on your tablet. Kewl. The touch response is inaccurate by up to a cm on many tablets. It does not work on Chrome OS because it is not a clone of the browsers Chrome OS expects. New manifests specifically for Chrome OS would have to be written, because it contains elements Chrome OS does not recognize or accept. It's part of that 1% that Chrome OS rejects.

Vivaldi for Android crashes and burns on my nami based Chromebook.. That said.. if you are running Crostini the linux version will install and run and seems to play YT videos and sound ok at least on Nami Chromebooks..though the UI doesnt work as well on the high resolution screen.. Know its not the ideal answer.... but figured you might want to try it if it was an option @bwpbruce

@jolt Actually I ended up doing this already (has to be configured in developer mode) and I only came here to post it as the alternative solution. It works great for me.

This is what happens when I post and don't check on the thread for all this time :P.
Please chill out. My main intention was to flag this - not that I think the devs don't know.
Vivaldi for Android is currently in Beta. If this was final, I'd actually be saying it's an issue, rather than simply documenting real world experience. It will work eventually - I'm not worried on that front. We've been waiting forever for Android and it finally came, so that's awesome.
More to the point, I already have Vivaldi on my chromebook via the linux emulator, so I'm fine for now. But it will be nice when I can use it as a native app in ChromeOS instead of that.
Currently with the android Vivaldi app installed, the main issue I'm facing is that annoying apps that don't open a browser window but open pages "in the app" are using the Vivaldi beta since it's probably set as default browser. And because of that, I get errors, since Vivaldi is not yet loading pages in ChromeOS.
I'm an Opera user since like Opera version 6, so "when it's ready" sounds just fine to me. Mainly happy to have Vivaldi as an alternative. I use Chrome for work, but Vivaldi is my personal browser.

Just came here to say, that according to Google, certain chromebooks require a file system migration for Android apps to work properly, please make sure your Model is in this list and doesn't require it:

@Ayespy Thank you for this information. I was really worried before as of why my clicking was always off, although there is nothing like calibration.
But to come back to the topic: yes, ChromeOS has ARC welder and now it also supports the play store on many devices. If people are installing a full-fledged Linux anyway, they should rather just install the desktop browser imo.

Every other Android app I have installed on my Chromebook works fine
- it's Vivaldi that's not working yet.

Tested the latest version? It is supposed to have been fixed in the version that they just released.

@louiskhor Make sure you try installing "Vivaldi Browser Snapshot"

Hey guys!
Those of you who have Chromebooks, would you please test Vivaldi Beta 2 on your devices. Vivaldi should now run on Chromebooks as well. -
Doesn't work for me on my Acer Cp311
