How to connect to a device using it's IP address
-
I have two devices that I need to connect to via their IP address. When I put in their IP address in the URL area I just get Duck Duck Go search results for that address - not a connection. I'm having to use a different browser to make the connections. How can I connect to a device using only it's IP address.

@mscarrington Are you using the latest Stable version? Check for updates.

Write http:// or https:// in front of IP. Not just IP address into addressbar.

Yes, latest version. And http:// or https:// doesn't make any difference. I get a search page full of descriptors and links. Anyway, other browsers don't need the http(s):// .

I have no issues but I am just going to my router. I just tyoe the IP, Vivaldi does the rest.

Feeling a little foolish. 'Twas a rookie error. @greybeard, I saw your example and knew exactly what I was doing wrong. I don't think I've integrated DuckDuckGo into Vivaldi well. When I put the IP address in the URL box it also appears in a line below the URL area. All I have to do is click on it and it performs a search. Actually, that is what it does ... searches with DuckDuckGo. The new window is a search window with the results and the IP address in the search line. If I enter a <CR> after the URL entry the search engine goes directly to the target IP address. No problem.
Thank you all for suggestions. I had been pulling my hair out about this.
