One of the main reasons I switched to Vivaldi was the plethora of settings to make the browser function and look just like I want it to. Coming from Firefox (and before that Opera 12), I've noticed over the years a clear trend to reduce settings to the bare minimum, and hide everything else in hard-to-access places away from most users.
In the corporate PR releases following such a "dumbing down", this is to make it "easier" for users to understand, but personally I believe it's just a case of developers being lazy. Fewer settings -> less potential for users to mess things up -> less complaints from non-technical people who have no idea what they've changed.
Whenever I select software I tend to go for the ones who offer the most options for customisation. But of course these options also need to be accessible, and a search feature is a must-have once the settings are too many for anyone (except the hard-core ) to fully remember. The settings would be pretty much useless without the ability to search for what you want to change.
For the future I'd love to see an added customisation option for user JavaScript, like we have today in experiments for CSS, it would help modders a lot.
So keep the settings coming, Vivaldi Team, the more the merrier - I want more settings than you can shake a stick at!

"Through Vivaldi’s Settings, you can customize the browser to suit your needs"
I assume this post was published by mistake, it should have been scheduled to go online probably around 2022 (estimating by historical development speed) -
"There are multiple ways to access Settings. Let’s run through them."
Or you can make new mouse gesture, in shape of letter "S" for example.

@senja I use the Sync icon, which I have moved up to the Address Bar.

Congratulations on the post. Very useful and will greatly help users who use vivaldi! \o/

I don't know any browser with as many configuration and customization possibilities as Vivaldi, I think that among all users there are none whose Vivaldi is the same as another.
Eg, I have removed the statusbar, moving all the icons to the adressbar (it does not work with the Zoom controller, but this can be supplemented with Ctrl + scroll) and used an animated gif as a background. Sci-Fi in other browsers. -

I do. It is Opera 12.18, and opera:config offers a whole lot more configuration options that are hidden from view.
What I would like to stress here is that more is not always better. It makes the browser harder to master, to support, and to maintain. The aim is to incorporate more chrome://settings (vivaldi://settings) into the Preferences dialogue, so Vivaldi could easily become over-complicated for non-geeks to use.
The developers need to resist the pressure to implement every option from every other browser in common use.

I am not at all a computer expert, I am only at the user level with some experience. I have never had any problem configuring Vivaldi, I find the configuration menu quite well ordered and intuitive, despite the credits of the Lord of the Rings by scroling through
It is true that the old Opera also had enough options, but they were not as easily accessible as in Vivaldi, at least this is my personal impression.
It is true that Vivaldi can overwhelm some users, but rather because of the large number of possibilities than the degree of difficulty of use, which I do not see anywhere. -

Let's set it… but wait, it's already occupied by ←↓→↓←…

@woz: Great work, Woz!

Sugestion: highlight the default options someway, so we can remember more easily the ones we've changed.

I love the Vivaldi browser but I have just noticed a problem that I can't seem to get beyond. When accessing MyVestaCP through Vivaldi, I can get to the root of the site but not to the login at the alternate port that must be specified. The screen just stays white. I noticed the default behavior was the same on the Brave browser also but works fine on Chrome or Chromium. My OS is Linux Mint 19.3 and content blocker is off for the url. What am I missing?

Please create a topic in the support forum. Sounds like it could be a content blocker, extension, cookies/cache/localstorage, or some missing proprietary part. Also check what google services are disabled in settings.

Love the flexibility to make Vivaldi work the way we want.
BUT, I have over a dozen profiles, for the most part, I want the same settings in each, and the only way to accomplish this is to tediously compare settings pages side-by-side. A month from now, I may decide I want to change a setting, which if I want to use it globally, I'd have to edit each and every profile.
Perhaps we need a Global-Settings that apply to all profiles until overridden by individual profile preferences.
And/Or, let us export ~/vivaldi/Profile_n/Preferences to a file that is safe to restore to a different profile, giving us ability to create multiple Default-Settings we can apply to new profiles. -
