@lonm: Can confirm. I have the address bar disabled by default and extension shortcuts do not work
-
@ian-coog: how do you do this?
-
@Kocho In Extensions page (Ctrl-shift-E) upper left there is a 3 lines menu button, select keyboard shortcuts. Then change the shortcuts to the extensions you want, I set a different key to the Picture-In-Picture extension because it defaulted to Alt-P which interferes with Vivaldi settings default, and also added one to uBlock Origin to activate the element picker
-
How about adding password protection to profiles?
-
Is there a way to hide the profile button?
-
@wpcoe if you go into settings > address bar, there is an option to hide the profile icon completely.
-
@g_bartsch: why is my profile icon a picture of a black guy? I prefer generic icons, not race oriented icons
-
@mozpri: Yes, there is: vivaldi://settings/addressbar/
-
@lonm: Thanks! Just want I wanted. Got back that little piece of address bar real estate.

Tab stacks still need quality of life improvements in order to be useful and not just a gimmick/show off, I'll name a few:
-
There's no way you can see them all stacked tabs, through scrolling for example, if you are on a 15.6" laptop and have more than 24 tabs in a stack.
-
When you hover over the tab stack, elements should stay on top until you click on a free area outside of them in the browser for them to hide, in order to be able to do stuff with them, like
-
closing multiple tabs and not just one and then having to hover over the tab stack again to close another one, and hover over the tab stack again to close another one, and hover over the tab stack again to close another one... you get the huge annoyance.
-
middle-clicking on individual tabs to close them, on the square tile, or at least on the tab title, not just the 'x', which is very tiresome and counter-productive having to search for it
-
-
Moving them around in the (not yet created) frame (low priority).
-
Lastly something that I assume it's pretty easy, providing a keyboard shortcut for "Close Tab Stack".
Please @jon put some love and resources on them!

Wow, search engine icon is a huge change and long requested feature.
Pitty that dropdown in search field still don't work. -
@Gregor make sure you don't have any of the Lock keys on (Caps/Num/Scroll lock), that cause the dropdown keyboard problem in search field.

[WISH] AUTOMATIC LOGOUT ON MAIN SITES
I wish Vivaldi closed Facebook's session (that is, made a full logout), each time I closed Facebook's TAB, instead of just closing it: what happens now, is that clicking on the red X, leaves the facebook's session opened.
I wish it did the same on Google, YouTube, and on all the main inernet sites, too... -
@newscpq open you bookmarks in a private window, it's already what you need. No autologin (private windows don't know about your default user stored infos) and everything gets lost when you close them.
-
[WISH] AUTOMATIC COOKIES' DELETION ON TAB CLOSING
A very nice feature in Opera 12.18 (I know...) was the option "erase new cookies on exit". I wished there was some kind of new feature in Vivaldi that did this on a PER TAB BASIS: that Vivaldi erased the cookies added by a given TAB, as soon as I closed that specific TAB. -
@newscpq said in Profile management, Abusive Ad Blocking, WhatsApp – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1546.4:

[WISH] AUTOMATIC COOKIES' DELETION ON TAB CLOSING
what @iAN-CooG said and you can already set cookies for session only, configure it here:
chrome://settings/content/cookies
or, if you want that this setting is better integrated to the vivaldi UI, upvote these threads in the feature request section of the forum

@ian-coog: no, my wish is that the browser did something for me in the background, when I close a TAB: I wished it made a full logout, as if I clicked on the "logout" link, in facebook.
-
@derday: my first wish doesn't deal with cookies, but with an automatic "script" that I wish Vivaldi did: I wish Vivaldi made a complete logout from Facebook (and google sites, as well), as soon as close their containing TABs.
.
I close a TAB => Vivaldi automatically logs out from Facebook: erasing cookies locally, doesn't close Facebook's session online. -
@newscpq most login-sessions are handled with cookies, so ...

Does not work with Web Panels. After quitting the browser and opening the Web Panel again, WhatsApp Web detects it as an incompatible browser.
