How do I get back the generic profile avatars?

After updating to v2.5 I noticed in the profile management all the generic Chrome avatars are changed to slick new icons. I'm sorry but they are harder to see when it's a tiny icon in a bar, the generic icons are easier to spot. But I can't see any option to get them back anymore. My other profile still using the generic icon so it's still in there somewhere but I can't select it. How to get them back?

Probably somewhere in the application itself. I took a quick look, but couldn't find them. What you can do however is replace the profile icon in the UI with something really generic.

edit: If you read this thread from top, you will notice that it had been possible to exchange the icons like you intend to, but the original solution doesn't work anymore.

@v0id I do believe Vivaldi will do something about it in the future – the current solution with either the forum avatar or a chromium provided icon in an otherwise themed UI is unsatisfactory. But it's anyone's guess how long it might take. And this is a javascript solution, make sure to create a.js file to implement it.
