To whom did you introduce Vivaldi today?

@Folgore101 , yes the lack of better contextual menus in the bookmarks bar was something that was clearly needed and we have improved on that. That being said there is clearly a lot of bookmarking features in Vivaldi not found in any other browser. The speed dials, as implemented, are rather unique and the bookmarks manager has more features than most. This means that many people will start by looking at what they used to do, while Vivaldi may at times offer different and even better solutions to the problem.
I understand those that complain that we are using Chromium. I wish we had our own code base. That is just not an option. However, clearly Vivaldi has a lot of features that no other browser has and we are even seeing some of these features being copied by other browsers, which means we have to be doing something right.

Vivaldi is certainly on the right track and this is also very evident looking for articles about Browers on the internet.
Although Vivaldi, by number of users, is still a marginal Brower, in many articles is mentioned in conjunction with the very established (Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Safari) show it as one of the great ones -
Back in the day I got them hooked on Opera (Presto) and they got another person hooked. Got them hooked on Vivaldi after Opera (Presto) went :RIP:.

I also use Amarok in Ubuntu earlier. But Amarok does not have a built-in browser and synced lyrics.

I'm from Opera (last update version 60) and I'm trying Vivaldi for first time.
I just have issues to use in tablet mode, no finger gestures, swipe in touchpad doesn't work.
I use on my Surface Go. -

Found myself in a bit of a browser discussion a moment ago and pitched Vivaldi. But apparently the guy I was talking to was already using it. Not sure if that counts as a success or not.

@i_ri , yes it is still the case that people do not know the difference between a browser and a search engine, but there continues to be a lot of people that know the difference and could make use of a browser that adapts more to their needs.

@luetage the biggest problem is the habit changing. I had that problem with a friend that is keeping with Firefox and another one with Chrome.

I'm a medicine student and well... All my friends and I are just focusing on competition. I remember one time they speak about browser, they just want to have a browser that function well ^^' and when I have try to show the advantage of mouse gestures to someone, the person found that weird ... Maybe I just speak with too simplistic people ahah.
I remember I saw a guy in my amphiteater that always have more than 20 tabs open, I should give him a word about Vivaldi -

@jon One of the problems I have now when recommending Vivaldi to other people is that they feel just fine using chrome. Vivaldi today still has some bugs here and there, and when my friends switch to it, suddenly amazon prime video is not working for them anymore, suddenly a chat window on HSBC is not working anymore, they will just switch back -- why not just use what everyone uses and save all the trouble.
I use Vivaldi, because I hate big monopolies manipulating their power on the internet. I don't think the majority of people care about that.
In terms of all the customizable features, they're nice, but many of them require some time to get used to before they become part of the habit. So they don't outweigh the bugs for most new users.

Well, I haven't yet shared Vivaldi by assuring offline. I just wrote a post in Manjaro OS forum about what browser I use. Aaaand some guy replied me in the topic that he started to use Vivaldi again. Other guy, looking at the thread's posts about Vivaldi uses, said that he hadn't heard of Vivaldi browser before this thread, but after reading about V he's gonna to try it.
The thread https://forum.manjaro.org/t/what-browser-do-you-use/21321 looks good for us, it contains nice share of Vivaldi users' glad posts. It seems Manjaro users and Vivaldi users have something in common, heh, at least @Steffie :).
