(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests
-
Toolbar Repositioning - Be able to reposition tab bar (top, bottom, left, right, left tree view, right tree view, none), address bar (top, bottom), and status bar (top, bottom, left, right, none).
Tabs - You have a neat feature when stacking tabs that creates simple line icons that allow you to pick from the stacked tabs. When placing the mouse cursor over these, the tab preview should show that tab only instead of all tabs in the stack so that I easily know which tab I'm selecting. Keep the full tab-stack preview when placing the mouse cursor over the title of the active tab in the stack, though.
Tabs - Row stacking. After a certain, possibly user-specified, number of tabs, begin placing new tabs on a new row.
Tabs - Cache and unload tabs from memory that have been inactive for a user-specified time. I use a plugin for this in Chrome, which has been extremely helpful in keeping my memory usage low.
Tabs - Option for close tab button on right of tabs, perhaps near the trash button.Keyboard shortcut - Ctrl+ for zoom in on page, Ctrl- for zoom out of page, maybe something like Ctrl-/ for reset page zoom.

p-p-p-p-pweeeeaseeee…..PS. You made my day when I found Vivaldi project :cheer:
I love what you are doing, keep up the good work! -

So, what stuff I found right away which I'm missing in Vivaldi from old Opera. Might be already mentioned but forum isn't a best option for this kind of stuff.
-
Show/hide images - first, it would be good to have a 3rd option "cached images" with already loaded images, placeholders for not-loaded ones and possibility to show specific images among them with context menu on that image. Second, switching between "Show images" to "Hide images" will reload the page which doesn't make sense (what's the point to reload the page when you just disabled images?).
-
RSS-reader - yep, it's good to have it too, I use it quite often
-
Open link in private tab - for now, it seems that it's not possible to use private mode in any form but I hope that when it's implemented, it'd be possible to open links in private tab, without opening a separate incognito window like it's done for Chrome and Firefox. At least it would be good to have both options - open a private tab and open a private window.
-
Undo closed tabs - there was an option to reopen closed tabs with Ctrl-Z in old Opera. It's quite desirable to have it here too.
-
-
-
Not just private window, but private tab function should be introduced. Like several tabs are open in the same window but one of them is private.
-
Colour themes can be changed…simple red blue type of choice should be offered.
-
When i click on new tab, it shouldn't take me to that tab immediately. It should atleast have an option to decide what happens when I click open in new tab.
-
Must show download speed and details after being clicked upon. Like where its being saved, whats the download url, estimated time left, time at which download was started, time at which it will finish, what to do after download completes and progress with servers from which the file is being sourced.
If this is not implemented then extensions will come up, people using vivaldi will run into trouble and people wont use vivaldi anymore. Its that simple.

I`am webdeveloper sine 2000 and i still use dragonfly more often then other debuggers,
it would be nice to have dragonfly -
One of my suggestions is to have stack tabs based on the domain like for example what the taskbar on Windows does with applications so if you’re like me and have a few of stackoverflow tabs open they don’t completely fill up the browser. I know some people may not like this option so make it an option just like Windows does.
-
It would be nice if there will be any system (on this website) where dev team announces which feature requests are being considered and which have been implemented
I really hate that many websystems that should force order are replaced by forums
With many posts it becames a chaos…[Or any admin that lists changes and delete/strikethrougg posts that are not up-to-date]

Dropbox/GoogleDrive/MS One drive support.
Or just allow us to say where profile data is stored. Let me store config and bookmark info in any folder (like a Dropbox/etal folder)
That way, the browser is 100% in sync all the time with multiple computers (and we don't have to use a sync service).
I currently have Vivaldi installed in Dropbox and it is working ok. However, since the profile info is still specific to that machine, I have to constantly update 'settings' by hand so that they match…it is a pain... (I have 5-6 primary machines + 2 tablets and a phone).

Different people want different things, so there are going to be allot of feature requests, and with a bit of luck vivaldi is gonna get them features. The problem is some people dont want specific features, and when such a feature is forced on then they will start to dislike vivaldi very fast.
Therefore my requested feature for vivaldi must be: CUSTOMIZABILITY
In other words, if you put some feature in vivadi, then also create the posibily to disable it.
ps this disable option doesn't have to be fancy menu, a config file or about:config list will do.posted it in the wrong place before

#1 Option to download files to different locations depending on file. For example I'd like to save .jpg files into /Pictures, .mp3 files to be saved into /Music, any files downloaded from youtube.com into /Videos and the remaining downloads to go to /Downloads
#2 Option to have a 2-row or multi-row tab bar
#3 Option to suspend tabs. As a simple yet complete solution, I am seeing 3 choices we can made: 1) Load this tab/page from Internet, 2) Load the local copy from cache, 3) Don't load at all, that is Suspend
#4 Option to align web pages to left/right instead of center. Many websites don't fill the full window width and by displaying then on the left/right rather then centred, user has got more space to display another window on top, or something.
#5 Maybe options #2 and #3 could combine into a innovative breathtaking gorgeous yet logical and elegant session manager or even tab grouping, where you can use multiple rows of tabs for grouping them/suspending/saving for later/etc…..
-
Automatic tab grouping by website domain, possibly as a sane default.
As a side note: Bring back Ctrl+Z to undo closing of webpages.

In terms of tab handling, the pattern that would work best for me is if every "child" tab (something opened from a link in a tab) opened next to its parent, and if every new tab (including those opened using "open in new tab" command opened at the end of the tabs. It when we get "open in background tab, those tabs should also open at the end. The only thing I would want opening next to the tab I am in would be its children.

This ! Exactly This !

Dragonfly including:
-> Device mode: mobile debugging with changeable user agent, network throttling and touch simulation (»ontouch«-events)
-> an event indicator on each element that has been manipulated with javascript (including all the events names and the code belonging to it) -
more mousegestures! Or a list, I only found out four gestures so far.
-
expand tabgroup without destroying it
-
history (I assume that is already on the list)
-
all the tab actions of opera 12! (No close button, double click to close etc)
-
possibility to disable the tab switching using cmd+shift+left and cmd+shift+right (It is OS X's default »mark and go to end of line)
-
a p*rn mode: private windows and tabs!
If anything I have written above is already included, I did not recognise it. Please enlighten me and show me how!
But so far, I love it already! It's like traveling back in time to the age of Presto Opera.
Don't you dare stop developing! -

I dont want to duplicate any post, there is some bugs, some feature requests (vivaldi 1.0.98.2 here)
just check this

I know a lot of these have already been mentioned. I include them here as another vote for some of my favorites.
- Built in content blocker, after the O12 model. I love being able to see and edit my block list in a simple text file.
- More detailed progress bar - loved having size in O12
- open in new/background tab
- Option to turn on drop down arrow in address bar (might be the only one who still uses this!)
- UI quibbles - More contrast in the UI. Tabs and other elements blend together too much for my taste; a small border around the window.
- paste and go
- Turn off tab preview in side tabs - I just want a list of tabs, no pictures.
- Bookmarklet support
- About lazy tabs - This is fine, as long as things eventually load in the background. On Sleipnir, for example, nothing but the tab in focus loads on startup until I click them. This is very annoying. I want things to open in the background while I read whatever tab is focused.
- Ask where to save downloads
- Some people asking to merge different UI elements. I just want to say that there are people out there who like a separate search bar, and tab bar, and menus, etc.
- Someone mentioned alphabetical bookmarks. Might be nice to add other sorting options, too - by date, etc.
- RSS reader.
- OPTIONS. Give the users options to turn things off if they don't like them. In my opinion, that's where new Opera (and most of the rest of the browser world) went wrong.
(In reading this tread and compiling my list, I used the Notes feature for the first time. This will change how I use the browser as a tool. I also discovered that Notes has markdown support! I'm in love!)

Well these are my feature requests and issues found, I hope this could be usefull to the Vivaldi developers
Suggestions / ideas / feature requests
1.- add an option to switch between the old URL box + search box layout or the omnibar layout (hide the search box)
2.- add more languages
3.- add a drop down menu to select from where you want start (restore previous session open new tab page or homepage)
4.- add a drop down menu to select your favorite window controls, my suggested options are:
-the Mac OS X vivaldi's window controls
-the Windows Vivaldi's window controls
-the Linux Vivaldi's window controls
-symbol only window controls, these windows controls has not frames not boxes, when you click them they are hilighted with the same colour of the tabs and navigation toolbars colours, three variants (Windows like symbols down arrow full screen like symbol and x and the tird one - / + / x)
-symbol + circles windows controls, as the symbol only these windows controls has not boxes nor frames but when these windows controls are hovered a semi transparent circle will apear (same tab's colour) when clicked the circle becomes opaque5.- add a drop down menu to select the window controls position
-Windows style, the window controls at the right (as on the vivaldi's current Windows or Linux versions)
-OS X style, the window controls at the left
-GNOME 3 style, only the close button shown and on the right
-GNOME 3 reverted style, the same but on the left
-elementary style. close button at the left and maximize button at the rightIssues found
I have only found one issue, when you are typing on the Google+'s text boxes for post or comment and you press the backspace button to delete the wrong letter or word Vivaldi does not detects the text typing mode so it goes to the previous visited page

I think it was mentioned already but I really miss for
Tab Pinning -
I have a suggestion.
In Vivaldi it’s possible to move the tab bar from upper side of the browser to bottom, left or right side. But currently it’s so, when you put the tab bar to left or right side, a switch to tile design occurs.
And I understand the design decision.
Now, my suggestion is, to implement an optional choose to leave it normal (no design switching) and then you have to read it vertical, but it’s space-saving, therefore. Like I said, you can make this an optional feature. I really would like that. Many people have no problems reading text vertically! And in addition i suggest mixing adress bar with title bar, when you have tab bar on any other position than upper side (like tab bar is mixed with title bar currently, when you have tabs on upper side of the browser)
I quickly did a screenshot for clarification what I exactly mean (-> Attachments).

I realize that more Opera features will probably be added to Vivaldi as it goes along, but I thought I'd list what would allow me to start using Vivaldi as my primary browser.
History in panel
Split view in panel
Sorting in panel
File save as web archive (single file) *.mht
right click, paste and go
color schemesAnd I think I should explain why color schemes are so important to me. Vivaldi is primarily black, white, and gray. These colors are indistinguishable from the average web page. I get confused with what's the browser and what's the page. With one exception. The red at the top is a nice touch because it clearly shows boundaries between browser and webpage.
In Opera the side panel has a bluish background. This distinguishes it from the gray scroll bar. I also set the Opera color scheme to Red. The result is I never get lost in the interface. I would like Vivaldi to be as easy to use.
