Better Widevine (EME) support for Linux – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1360.4
-
@asdfzombie: I confirm with the 2.2.1360.4 64 bits on W10
-
@ruario: unfortunately, no effect.
-
Ok, one last idea. Try extracting Widevine 4.10.1224.0 out of Chrome beta (71.0.3578.30) and using that.
You should be able to do it on the fly during download, like so:
curl -r10596- https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-beta_current_amd64.deb | tar xJ ./opt/google/chrome-beta/libwidevinecdm.so --strip 4
(Note: You can triple-click to select the whole command in the line above)

Hi, testing the beta lib but does not work.
I delete all Netflix cookies and restart before testing.Call it a day for now and thanks @ruario

I think there is a bug, maybe due chr71 update.
It happens on facebook and on imgur; let me know if it also happens on other sites and if it was reported:"drag n' drop a media in a webpage "active area" opens it instead uploading"
Edit: Purged FB cookies. Seems to have solved the issue. -
@stardust This should be optional in themes. While I agree the background on the favicon is not pretty, is also bad to have some favicons invisible when they are dark. I'm using a compromise, making it half transparent in the css. Maybe a solution, would be an color invert to the icon when both, theme and favicon, are dark.

Sadly i have to join the club of other Nixers for whom this latest SS actually broke Netflix, which seems rather ironic given the release notes. Afaik this is also the first time that H.264/MP4 on https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html passed but NF itself failed, with the unpleasant:
I tested this on VMs Manjaro KDE, Xfce, Enlightenment, & Cinnamon, + Linux Mint Mate 18.3. In each case i verified before doing the update that NF streamed fine.
I'm gonna hold back this SS from my real boxes.

@burbuja: What are you seeing? I think devs would appreciate that more than a plain complaint.
-
good work V Team
-
@hadden89:
Inverting the icon colors must be optional as well.On the other hand, I would like to have the white background on background tabs as well.

@burbuja: Hi, would you mind providing to us your %temp%\vivaldi_installer.log?

I have already submitted a bug report but I'm afraid that, with this version, the crashes related to mouse gestures have gone up in level! I had to disable mouse gestures and use an extension to continue using Vivaldi. I must repeat a question I've asked in the past: why with every new version the first victims are the mouse gestures?

@gwen-dragon: VB-45872

sure:
vivaldi_installer.log -
@gwen-dragon: How do I append the crash log? I cannot find an "add file" button in the bug report form.
-
@gwen-dragon: OK, I'll just do that!
-
@nutcracker It's not a universal problem, I use mouse gestures all the time and I only had problems in very early versions and I think in the earliest 1.15 build, and crashes only in the very old builds.
Hopefully the crash logs you sent can shed some light what is different in your setup that is causing those instabilities.
