Picture-in-picture – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1332.4

@pesala By the way, in my not humble opinion the default UI of 100% is huge ... I use 80%

Hi.
The Picture-in-Picture feature is a great addition, thanks.
But it would be even better if we could resize freely the video window (the maximum size is kinda small).
Also an option to toggle full screen would be nice.
Oh, and the seek bar of course.EDIT: It seems like I can only see the PiP video one time, once it reaches the end it just turns black.

@alf5000: Works for me since some time on my w7 machine ...
Do you use a multi monitor setup with different monitors? -
@burbuja we'll talk about it when you're older and you don't see well as now
I agree on the weird choice on setting a different, larger step by using keyboard shortcut or qc. -
@ian-coog I am old - 44 and at distance I have problems with the sight.

I used to think I was old at 44, but then I became 58. Trust me, you're not old.
(Someone older than me may now put me in my place accordingly, lol)

what in gods name is happening to the favicons in this build?
-
My custom thumbnails in speed dial got deleted with this update. Not sure if this expected behaviour.
-
@lebaux It depends on where you store them. I save mine in O:\Vivaldi\ and never lose them because the install folder never changes.
-
@pesala: Hi, thanks for reply. I have set them via GUI, I do not even know where they are stored. One would expect that it the intended way to do it
-
@lebaux They need to be found in the exact same directory where you have set them from, so better keep them all in a safe directory.

Vivaldi still does not launch maximized, I thought it was a windows 10 issue which was fixed in 1809 but it is still happening.
-
@lebaux At present, Vivaldi does not have a storage scheme for these - only a "fetch" scheme. They only exist in the locations you fetched them from. They are not stored in Vivaldi. So for the sake of predictability, you need to select a reliable directory and store them there, and then set the images by going to that directory from the browse dialog in the GUI, so that if any of your settings change, or Speed Dial gets refreshed for any reason, you know where to find them to re-set them again.

PiP does not work with anything twitch.tv
-
@npro Install the extention Picture-in-Picture

For now to force PiP on twitch, install the extension they hinted in the blog announcement itself:
For certain sites like Youtube, this is not yet possible via the their custom context menu (though double right clicking works around that). If you want something simpler this extension will allow you to use PiP when the standard context menu is not available. Just click on the extension button when you browse a website with a video.

Native Notifications under RS5/1089 are still a huge mess. Sometimes I'm getting pulled out of Focus Assist while in a full screen game and if I hover and click on the down/right area (where the notification popped up) I get pulled from the game to the Desktop. It's like a phantom overlay over the game window.
Also the flag to enable Native Notifications, enabled or default
disabled, has no effect whatsoever.I don't get the old Chrome notifications at all(got them after I disabled the flag, so now the Default is Enabled), which are preferable to this mess. I only get OS-looking popups with a Close interaction. Sometimes clicking on the popup has the correct effect of getting me to the page that generated the notification. Sometimes it does not and nothing happens. At times, closed notifications reappear in the Action Center, even after a full day of me closing them/clicking on them.
Notifications worked properly in 1803/RS4 with the previous snapshots (maybe 2-3 versions now).

Picture in Picture mode also works with embedded YouTube videos that are currently playing or paused.
Note that you need to click twice with RMB, not double-click. The first right-click shows the debug menu. The second right-click shows the context menu where you can find Picture in Picture mode.
