For now to force PiP on twitch, install the extension they hinted in the blog announcement itself:
For certain sites like Youtube, this is not yet possible via the their custom context menu (though double right clicking works around that). If you want something simpler this extension will allow you to use PiP when the standard context menu is not available. Just click on the extension button when you browse a website with a video.

Native Notifications under RS5/1089 are still a huge mess. Sometimes I'm getting pulled out of Focus Assist while in a full screen game and if I hover and click on the down/right area (where the notification popped up) I get pulled from the game to the Desktop. It's like a phantom overlay over the game window.
Also the flag to enable Native Notifications, enabled or default
disabled, has no effect whatsoever.I don't get the old Chrome notifications at all(got them after I disabled the flag, so now the Default is Enabled), which are preferable to this mess. I only get OS-looking popups with a Close interaction. Sometimes clicking on the popup has the correct effect of getting me to the page that generated the notification. Sometimes it does not and nothing happens. At times, closed notifications reappear in the Action Center, even after a full day of me closing them/clicking on them.
Notifications worked properly in 1803/RS4 with the previous snapshots (maybe 2-3 versions now).

Picture in Picture mode also works with embedded YouTube videos that are currently playing or paused.
Note that you need to click twice with RMB, not double-click. The first right-click shows the debug menu. The second right-click shows the context menu where you can find Picture in Picture mode.

@jenoki I only see this on a dark theme. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that (for whatever reason) vivaldi is supposed to show a white background on favicons when in dark mode on the active tab.
I never liked it previously and I certainly don't like what's happening now. It reminds me of when I try to open a PNG with alpha channel transparency in a program and it doesn't support it giving the weird jagged edges you see.

Finally taken the time to test it : Sweeeeeeeeet!
Thank you so much. -
Win7/64, latest Vivaldi snapshot crashes (shuts down) if you open a private window next to the "regular" Vivaldi window and then use CTRL+Shift+Del in the private window to delete that data. Selected were: history, cookies, cache, autofill and the one at the bottom... application storage (?!).

Very useful!!! Congratulations to the team of vivaldi \o/

@pesala: @ian-coog: @ayespy: Good info. Thank you. I had made a bunch of SD images when that first became possible and recently made a bunch more when I learned I could apply them in the GUI but didn't realize Vivaldi just fetched them from where I saved them. I wondered where they went when I chose them. Now that I know I won't get confused in the future by moving my source folder.

You folks are spoiling us these days. Thank you.
-
@feil0ng: oh and this build stopped playing mp4 videos on debian 9 (without additional scripts)
-
Smartcard PIN popup still broken.
-
@gwen-dragon: thanks, but I meant it used to work out of the box for the past 2.1 builds without extra scripts (only chrome installed) ..
-
@gwen-dragon: Well I have chrome stable (69.0.3497.100) installed. Must have been coincidence that it "just worked". I hope AV1 solves those codec issues.
-
@gwen-dragon: I see, I also have a /opt/Riot/libffmpeg.so, might have been that.
Anyway, I guess AV1 has better chances than WebM to become more wide spread, I was trying to say -
Been waiting a lot for this one, nicely done! One small issue (when I tested it): If we choose a list on youtube (or when we have the autoplay option on), the audio still works but the image stays black after the first video
