Chromium 70 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1322.4
-
@pafflick No I've not, I've not touched the flags since I first started using vivaldi.
-
@addy I know, I rather asked: Did you try to do so, in order to bring back the original behaviour?
-
@pafflick No aha, I've no care for push notifications, if anything now that you've shown me this flag I shall promptly disable the functionality, I think I may recall seeing push notifications prior to this but it was long ago and they looked very different and acted much more out of the way (they were white iirc), these ones are the default windows 10 looking ones that you'd see with their mail app and all those, they are very abrupt and in your face, I really doubt I need to have a notification taking up the bottom right quarter of my screen and beeping at me just to let me know someone liked a comment on youtube, lol.
-
@addy With the flag enabled the native notifications (in Action Center) worked fine on RS4/1803/previous snapshot. I find the notifications appearing all together in one place nicer to deal with, it's more organized instead of each app having its own.
Downloaded files, youtube likes/comments etc., all appeared in the Action Center previously, not anymore. -
why did noone mentioned up until now, that the nasty screenshot-only-the-visible-part-of-the-screen bug is fixed? hooray!
-
@derday I am sure it was listed in the changelog of one of the Snapshots.
-
@pesala link or it didn't happen
-
@derday It's "fixed" with a workaround as I understand it. I think there's ongoing work to get it fixed "for reals."
-
@ayespy ok, thx for the info
-
@derday Here you go in 2.0.1300.5
[Regression] Whole page screen capture does not work (VB-41231)
-
oh, wow, thx @Pesala
-
@mrprobs: fonts-ttf-liberation !== liberation-fonts.
Mageia is using a different name from RedHat systems. The Fedora doc shows the name is correct for RedHat systems. You will have to either install using the install script or ask in Mageia forums if there's a way to say the package provides another.

Issue with last 2 snapshots... If you use the Forward or Back mouse buttons to navigate, then click outside Vivaldi, the click outside is eaten by Vivaldi even though the mouse pointer is over another window or the desktop. You have to click again to get focus away from Vivaldi.
New issue: Some pages don't render after loading. Restart Vivaldi, go to https://news.google.com .
After the loading is complete, the page is blank until I click somewhere on the page. https://forum.vivaldi.net did the same thing. Once the page renders, it will render again in a new tab just fine.Fedora 28 - Xfce.
-
I'm unable to reproduce any of your issues here:
- Forward/Back navigation mouse buttons cause Vivaldi to lose its focus when pressed while the cursor is away from Vivaldi window.
- Opening those two pages (after restarting Vivaldi) doesn't cause any of them to become "blank". You either provided not enough details to reproduce this, or there is just something in your setup that causes this...
Snapshot 1322.4 (64-bit) on Windows 10 ver. 1803, x64.
-
@pafflick It's not reliable, but it's real. I've seen it on Google sites and on the Forum. Page loads and only the background canvas can be seen. Go to another tab and return, and page contents are there. Unfortunately, I can't produce it reliably. And my setup is as vanilla as they come. No extensions, no flags, no 3rd party software. Now I have not seen it in a few days on the internal versions, so something may have fixed it. But I was definitely seeing it last week.
-
@ayespy Alright, I have only tried it a couple times. My Snapshot is also pretty much at "factory" state, but I don't use it too often. I keep it mainly for testing purposes. If that's a random issue, then it might be the reason why I haven't encountered it yet...
-
@pafflick It is somewhat random. And just now, two more users posted about in on new threads, by coincidence.

@t0yz said in Chromium 70 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1322.4:
Another change from previous snapshot is the Youtube videos opened with middle click in a background tab start playing. They didn't do that in the past. Tabs also don't seem to hibernate on their own.
Can this behavior be changed? I liked how I could open a few Youtube videos and they'd start playing once I went to their tab. This new behavior would force me to pause each video.
More info on this.
- if I open a video (middle click) in background tab from Youtube itself (right bar of Recommended/Up Next), it starts to play in the background tab. Not good.
- if I open a YT video from a Twitter post the same way, it opens in a background tab, does not start to play and the tab shows the "unread" mark on the top right corner
Hope it's helpful towards isolating and fixing this.

@t0yz: same issue here. I hope this can be fixed as it's super annoying at the moment.
