Further stabilization – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2.0.1306.3
-
@gwen-dragon @mtaki14 I can kind of reproduce this. I haven't come across a concrete case, but I get a half hit-rate when trying mouse gestures over PDF documents that are text heavy.
-
[Regression] No favicon in cascaded bookmark menu at the first click (VB-41545)
Nice to see this one! It's been a while: not even sure now when it regressed.
-
Hbo Go still not working on linux. Netflix working perfectly.
-
@mtaki14: Yeah, it is a known issue, only some systems seems to see the issue, as it is very timing related
-
@gwen-dragon: This is a known issue yeah, previous snapshot:
"Known issue
Drag and drop tab to new window causes duplicate tabs (VB-43454)"
Closing this duplicate tab fails and causes the browser to slow down as iAN mentioned. We are working on a fix -
@aronand ok good. The known Issue is only stated on previous blog, but I've not actually noticed the bug until mentioned here

Hello!!
I already wrote this in the previous version, but it still happens in this vivaldi review. Chrome does not have a problem. There is something wrong as of version 2.0.1302.3 '. For me that extension is essential. Or in another case Vivaldi could incorporate the possibility of separating a video in a pop-up window.Another thing that would be interesting is to put icons to the right-click options on the tabs. I'm visual and it's hard for me to find the options only in the text.
The "Separate Window" extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/separate-window/cbgkkbaghihhnaeabfcmmglhnfkfnpon?hl=en) in previous versions did what it had to do. Open a popup of a video, for example, being able to see that video in a window of the second monitor. In the new revisions, Vivaldi remains a "ghost" tab of that pop-up window, and also when those pop-ups lose focus, they are paused.

@ruario: ok, you're right. I cleaned repo cache and update the system and update manager download vivaldi rpm in release "-1".
I downloaded it manually now "-2" and works fine. Videos from youtube works but youtube.com/html5 still show me that h264 is supported but anyway it work.
Thanks a lot for fix

youtube.com/html5 still show me that h264 is supported
It does not really matter. We have no intention of fixing this
-
still crashes after closing a tab. more often as last snapshot!
-
I find this beta version pretty stable and fast, a nice improvement. Except it crashes with Gmail (with a large inbox), for whatever reasons.
-
While I appreciate these stability fixes, it seems to me snapshot is a long way off from stable still.
I still get application crashes to desktop (no error) when close and opening tabs sometimes, quite frustrating. Happens quite a lot when I open and close lots of youtube tabs but can happen with any web content really.
-
Same here, Vivaldi crash about 4-5 times today closing tabs but ...
I restart Vivaldi, all tabs are there and I can work further happily.Cheers, mib

The issue I mentioned in the last snapshot about being unable to type in the addressbar happened again: https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/234477
Although, this time I don't know what caused it. I don't think I had any tabs with textboxes open. I did have a lot of tabs open. And shortly after the browser crashed while closing a tab. Not sure if it was related.
Also, the steps I had from the previous snapshot for causing the unable to type issue doesn't seem to cause the issue anymore. So I haven't been able to reproduce it.
-
@ugly FYI, I think that this focus glitch has now been fixed internally but the fix didn't quite make it into today's snapshot.
-
@megaboom ... and the crash when closing tabs has now (knock on wood) hopefully been fixed as well but also didn't quite make it into today's snapshot.
-
@aronand: Timing related? It fails 9/10 times for me.
But I'm glad it's a known issue

See the known issues.

can't open a new tab.
only when I switch to another tab already opened, my pending tab (or tabs) instantly opens.
