Chromium 67 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.16.1221.3
-
I have a problem (not a serious one) for sometime now - perhaps somebody knows how to solve it: the notifications that pop up from every site don't display the favicon of the site but only the icon frame. I tried using Edge, Opera and Firefox and everything works fine with those browsers but not with Vivaldi.

Rolled back to 1211 after trying to run this today; Had issues in nearly every form on the web. the second i'd click in to a textbox the keyboard & mouse would cease to respond anywhere in the active tab.
-
@gwen-dragon I am seeing a delay of 3-5 seconds. They do work, just not immediately.
- Open a tab from speed dial
- Gesture Left to go back
- Click another speed dial: the site opens after a delay
- Go back again
- Click to close speed dial tab (no x button visible)
- Click registers even if the x button is not visible
- x button appears if one waits 3-5 seconds.
I submitted a bug as (VB-41355) Delay After using Back (GestureLeft)
This is easily reproducible.

@ruario Thank you all Vivaldi Team - outstanding work!!
I also appreciate the backports of security features into the last several snapshots!

Opening Developer Tools ("Inspect") crashes V. here consistently. Linux x64
-
go to vivaldi://about and try to select or click on link... it does not work for me
-
@eucliwood I see that. There are no links on the :about page - just blue underlined text. I'll report it.
-
"File > Exit" does not shut down this snapshot. Shall I kill it in Task Manager?

Nope, not for me:
BTW, i know that at time of my post, my sig still shows the previous SS, but i am currently testing this new 1.16.1221.3 in one of my Manjaro VMs [from where i'm posting this]. Given the large amount of problems & complaints i perceived elsewhere in this thread i decided to test it first in VM, & only once/if i'm satisfied will i proceed to update my real Manjaro's V-SS. So far, everything i have tested has been tickety-boo... two thumbs-up from me so far.
-
@lonm Seems ok here.

Anyone on Linux that one does
Yes, but fyi, for that Linux cohort using Manjaro, & who installed V via the herecura repo, this all happens automagically. It's lovely.

No problems here [eg, this 1.16.1221.3 Reply]. It would have been interesting if you'd tested with a virgin profile, instead / before rolling back.

I don't always keep up on every snapshot, so this may not be from this change.
The right click scroll tab selector is still super buggy, and seems to be different every time I check. Now the pop up will stay on the screen until you click on something, which makes it very inconvenient if you want to flip back and forth between a few pages quickly. And the highlighted page in the pop up is sometimes in the center, sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left.
-
@theomni: Yeah, the tab selector is buggy for me too. The pop up stays on the screen when I use the mouse (right click + scroll wheel) until I left click on the tab.
However, it seems to work fine with Ctrl+Tab.

Agreed this is buggy, but FYI if you enable "Minimize Active Tab," switching back and forth quickly can be done by clicking the Tab on the Tab Bar.

wohoo! my tabs are loading without delay now! (VB-37387)

Frequent crashing on macOS 10.13.6 beta, with touchbar.
Bug --> if enabled restore last session --> vivaldi://flags any control will instantly crash it
-
@ian-coog: Uh... didn't we have a bit different extensions page before?...
