(History of) Vivaldi Feature Requests

Two things that I miss from other navigatos in Vivaldi: Pin tabs (Tweetdeck and GMail, for example) and desktop notifications.
I already love the project! ^^

Good stuff!
Mail (the way M2 used to do it)
Better Contact organization (creating a mailing list was a pain in Opera)
Calendar with syncing capabilitiesFor the business plan, I suggest to target small businesses (~20 people) by adding something similar as Opera Unite to the entire thing: essentially have a server (sort-of-like-unite-was) sit on a company computer, and the other vivaldi browsers can access it. Create plugins that give folks a group calendar, and some time monitoring, a simple internal wiki, … I just think that small business (where, say, one employee with limited computer knowledge suddenly is the guy responsible for IT) are having a hard time finding solutions to the challenges that come with growing past a critical point.

I would put 1Password support at the top of my list of important features, whether by extensions or as an integrated feature. Without it, switching to Vivaldi will be a challenge.
-
F12 (or any) - JavaScript ON/OFF

First, I like that the layout is uncluttered and not visually overwhelming.
I recall that older Opera version had the option of NOT having icons, but simply text (words - no pictures) on all the buttons. It'd be great were that an option on Vivaldi as well. I'm probably in the minority, but I can't be the only person who finds icons to be frequently UNintuitive.
My main concern is about themes and skins as they relate to ease of reading. For example, the screen I'm looking at (screenshot attached) has light blue and grey text on backgrounds that are various shades of light blue and grey. One's eyes become tired rather quickly because of the lack of contrast. Is there a way for the browser to change the color scheme of each site when the browser displays it. Opera and FireFox offer such extentions although their modifications are not always successful.
For example, when the browser renders a page it 'sees' mid-grey text on a light blue background. could there then be a trigger of "insufficient contrast" and change the text to black? Or the reverse: mid-green text on a dark green background becomes LIGHT green or tan text on the dark green background.
Regarding skins: I miss skins. On older Opera versions one could change skins very quickly and have a much more pleasant browsing experience.
I apologize for my clumsy language in describing the technical features I am requesting. I'm an interpreter and do not have a technical background.
Thank you. Dziekuje.

Ohh, why another search bar? It has a much better and yet working and configurable feature:
g something (search on google)
y something (search on youtube for 'something! You must add this, but it is easy)
w something (wikipedia)
Lots of possibilities amazon, ebay, anything…
For youtube:
Tools->Settings->All->Search engines
ADD:
ULR: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%s
Descripion: youtube (or anything)
Keyword: y -
Is it true I didn't really searched a lot for it, but for the "Import bookmarks and settings", adding Chrome to it would certainly help.

My absolute number one desired feature is right click + scroll wheel to cycle through tabs in most recently used order. Pretty much like how Opera 12 does it. I like to use a lot of tabs and switch between them pretty frequently and quickly and it makes a huge improvement on browser usability for me.
Currently, Opera 12 is the only browser that can do that, even with all the addons available for all other browsers it's still just Opera 12, so that's what I'm using. But I'd really like to be able to switch to something a bit more up to date, so I hope you put this feature in soon.

Yes - allow us to set speed dial as our home page.
AT LEAST, publish its address (I'm so far unable to discover it), so that I can enter it into the blank where homepage can be assigned in Settings.
Edit: OK - the startpage address is vivaldi://startpage - but when you assign the home page to this address, you get the "This web page is not available" error window (with vivaldi://startpage in the address bar) but then if you click in the address window and press "enter," BANG - you get speed dial. There has to be a way to make this work.

Thank you Vivaldi folks! This is the perfect cure for "the only good browser left in the world just turned into Chrome-with-mouse-gestures" depression.
I had a quick lookaround, and here's my feature wishlist (apart from "make it like O12" :p). Several of these may have been mentioned already, but just in case this is a democracy I'll repeat them.
- Click on tab to minimize
- Hotkey for reopening closed tabs
- Hotkey for "reset zoom to 100%" (was * in Opera 12)
- Paste & go, both via r-click in adress field and global (was ctrl-B in O12)
- Proper implementation of "copy to note" and "insert note" as in opera 12
- Bookmarks: should be sorted folders first, then by name
- Also bookmarks: one-click opening of folders/bookmarks as in O12, currently needs double-clicks
- Bookmarks should open in new tab by default (or at least an option to choose behaviour should exist)
- Speed dial shortcuts, both 1,2 etc in menu bar ("1","2",etc. opens first/second etc thing on sd) and ctrl+1, ctrl+2 globally
- Private tabs
- Support for add-ons/extensions (e.g. adblock etc)
- Option to restore last session as in O12 [EDIT: oh, how'bout that, this already works. Got misled by previous posts :D]
Hope you can make it!

I was a pretty huge fan of Opera during the pre-Chromium days, and wish I could say the same about the Chromium-based version. It just feels… wrong. I've been using Chrome as a stopgap while waiting for Opera to regain their original focus, but it's been years. I've barely used Vivaldi and it's just a technical preview now, but I feel at home already.
I would like to see extension support, the customizable interface of Opera 12.x and private tabs/windows. Those were the features I loved the most about Opera, aside from tab stacking, which is already there, and would love to see them come back.

Paste and go
Edit Speed Dial, and thumbnail selection. Create folders moving one speed dial on another.
When I change default search, right click on selected word still show: "Search Google for:". It should search with my default search engine.
Bugs:
When you write 0 in some text boxes, it starting to zoom in. There is some other numbers and letters with same problem. -
Hello everyone,
Few nice things I would like to see…
Mac user btw. and a very very old school Opera user[ul]
- History … searchable, with advanced search options .... and especially with listing recently closed paged with a shortcut for opening the last one
- Expanding back and forward buttons with list of recent pages…
- Expanding refresh with auto refresh every X minutes…
- Sessions and session manager…
- Form manager with preloaded data in settings…
- Locking tabs so they are never closed…
- Developers toolkit similar to dragonfly… Current one is ok, but it could be improved
- Private browsing and parental block based on keywords…
- Rss reader…
- Presentation mode, with a proper fullscreen and stuff. And also, maybe, private browsing, so that once you are presenting, skeletons from the history don't come hunting you
[/ul]
- History … searchable, with advanced search options .... and especially with listing recently closed paged with a shortcut for opening the last one

I would like a swipe to navigate function. For instance, on OS X in Chrome and Safari I can two (or three) finger swipe to the left to go back. The opposite to go forward but I rarely use that function.
Also, a Bookmarks Bar up top would be great.

-
- Lazy tab loading (absolutely a must; plus, maybe some intelligent unload of long unused tabs)
- Right mouse button + scroll to navigate the tabs in MRU order (like in O12)
-
Please, add a possibility save image with Ctrl+LMB on it.
-
Richt-click on a tab -> Close all tabs to the LEFT
Please!! Thank you!
-
Why not create a poll with the feature-requests to determine the most popular?
-
So what I miss for now
- Ability to give a hug to all devs
- pressing escape key to defocus adress tab after pressing ctrl+l
- paste and go
- new tab gesture
