Back/Forward Mouse Buttons to work in Panels

A simple as the title says, currently when I use the back/forward buttons on my mouse it will only affect the main window tab as opposed to the web panel I'm currently hovering over. Would be great if it could affect the panel instead.

Interesting if tabs are tiled, the buttons only affect the tab currently being hovered over, So i guess its just extending that to panels.

@lord_dreadwave If you right-click on any web panel, you can set it to show all toolbar controls. Then you will have back/forward buttons in the web panel.

You can try it with Vivaldi URLs

Context menu back/forward also work in Web Panels, but not mouse gestures.

I found that multi-media keyboard back/forward buttons work in both the web panel and the tab, for which I have submitted a bug report.

I've tried rebinding my Mouse 4 & 5 keys to replicate the Browser_Back and Browser_Forward media keys respectively. However the keys are skipping a page and going back (or forward) two pages at a time instead of one.
Is this normal? Unfortunately I don't have a device with physical media keys to test it.

I recognize the latest reply here is over a year old, but was there any progress made on VB-39837 as referenced here? I'm running Vivaldi on Windows 7 desktop and seeing the same (lack of) behavior using a Logi trackball mouse back button.

I haven't tried the media back and forward, but I don't think it addresses the problem any better than clicking the back button on the toolbar.

It is resolved as closed. It's a very old bug, so if it's regressed and broken again, please file a new bug report.

Rocker gestures ought to work too, but they also affect the web page, not the panel.
