-
Need very useful feature to Right-click to open Link in New Tab (foreground)!
I used it years in Firefox...
I used it in Chrome with Extensions - But that extension stopped working in Vivaldi 1 month ago... - It opens 2 duplicate Tabs now.... (((( Can You fix it?- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/new-tab-on-right-click/mkehfjofokpbokcillmdcnjmdoejkljb?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog
- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/right-click-opens-link-ne/mhjkeimpgjokbjmioglhlngefbddppnn?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog
Can You Add that Feature to Vivaldi instead of using Firefox or Chrome?
Please!

@alex77777 I can understand why some users want to open a link in a new tab without holding down the shift key, but I don't understand why anyone would want to break the link context menu just for this.
Why not assign a mouse gesture to it? -
- Much more easier just to right click a link
- If You use other browsers (Firefox or Chrome) it's hard to remember all that differences between them

@alex77777 Open link in a new tab is right at the top when you right-click on a link. You have not answered the question why you would want to disable the right-click menu.
If you want to modify the behaviour of Vivaldi to match other browsers, I guess you will always need to use extensions. No one is going to vote to change the default behaviour to suit Firefox users.
If the extension stopped working, report a bug. Upgrade to the latest Snapshot. Regressions are often fixed quickly.

In my mind, the right context menu should be a considered as a special command menu where you need these features only occasionaly, and this is quite obvious when you use bubble context search, automatic translation which appear only when you've made selection. Easier, more ergonomic, quicker than playing with right click, mouse position, readings, and cascade sub-menus.
I like the idea of right-click to Open Link in New Foreground Tab as a built-in customable solution. But it seems that this not the priority curiously of every browser makers.
Indeed if you use the right button for this, how to use the same button for the context menu whereas this behavior is common into the OS interfaces ? I searched a long time, I thought about playing with long click which allows to get right mouse button for the tab opening and also for the context menu.
I discovered recently a new way which is almost as easy as a right click, as efficient as a mouse button click, and symetric with the left click, all of this keeping the right button with the general context menu calling. I suggested a improvement which seems to me easy to do for the advantages that would offer. This idea is coming from firefox extension Foxy gestures which allows to customize rocker gestures. And now I use this : I open page into the current tab with left button, into new background tab with middle one, and for what which interests particularly this thread, the new tab opening into foreground, I do the combination of the mousedown state of the right button (which activates gestures) and then the left click over the link.

@pesala Where I asked about changing or disable the right-click menu?
I asked about an ability as a custom setting. -
@alex77777 If you use right-click to open a link in new tab then you cannot also use it to open the context menu. So you will disable the normal right-click menu, even if it was an optional setting.

This extension allows to open links in new tabs with right-click directly and using “long” left-click.

Thanks. I already know this extension that interested me when it run. I regreted this is an extension for touchpad first. The author never used right long click directly for opening link... And the problem with long click and normal one is the time delay between both : too much long compared with the left normal click, often too much short that you send a confused order between the link opening and the contextmenu and then you have to do again.

What You are talking about?
I don't asked about opening Links with long click! And author don't do it too.
I don't care at all with context menu on right click at link.
I need right click open a link in new Tab - That's all I ask. -
I've understood this well, and I only make my contribution that using right button according to this way makes problem with contextmenu, and I suggested two solutions to avoid this, one playing with long click, the other with a mouse button combination.
I prefer indeed keeping right button for parameters as it does for every page objects, and using one of the last suggestions to get the new tab into foreground. It is, according to me, more coherent, and that would probably interest a lot of people I think. However you can invert, and use right click for opening, and one of the last solutions for the contextmenu, or never use the contextmenu for links but then it looks for me more customization than a general option. -
