Audio problem on Video
-
The videos on this site:
won't play properly. The video itself plays fine, but the audio is very much slowed down. They play just fine in Edge and Firefox, so it appears to be a Vivaldi specific problem. I'm using the latest 1.14 64 bit version on Win 10.

@fred8615
Hi, just for info, the sound is fine here but our systems are very different.Opensuse Leap 42.3 x86_64
CPU Intel T4200 4 GB
GPU Intel GN 965
xf86-video-intel 2.99.917-6.1
KDE Plasma 5.8.7
Vivaldi 1.15.1137.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit)Cheers, mib

confirmed slow audio on Vivaldi 1.15.1137.3 win7 32bit
-
Audio, right?
Here is a query of the last three months about audio issues. No problems with video and audio for me. Our platform are different.
-
Audio is slowed down during videoplay back (Video URL: http://www.afl.com.au/video/2018-03-31/suns-hit-the-scoreboard-early).
Can confirm (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit | Vivaldi 1.14.1077.55 64-bit) and I know that it's an ongoing problem with the Vivaldi browser for seven months now. Opera and Firefox are working fine here.
Here's one of the old threads discussing the issue: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/20481/video-playback-broken-sound-in-slowmotion/2
-
You may report it.Please, read this article.
-
I've already reported the problem back then and it was a waste of time.
Don't think it will be helpful to report the same problem over and over again in this case.
The thread I've mentioned includes a note from another moderater which reads
"There are many slow audio bugs collected now under VB-26260 "[SlowAudio][Mac][Windows] Audio slowed down in video". Work is in progress."
As I said, it's a known issue which had been reported already multiple times.
-
Let me check the bug status, just a sec.
Edited: over ten duplicated reports.
-
Here's another thread where the problem is mentioned:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/19025/audio-playback-slowed-downAnd there is a link to get rid off the bug with an unofficial workaround. It's in german so I'll post the Google translation:
Didn't test it yet.
-
According to this post it could be a problem with ffmpeg:
The moderator wrote the following:
"Confirmed with 1.13 on Windows an Linux, too.
Audio encoding is misdetected by Vivaldi.
Slow Audio is a know bug on sole platforms. Fixes are in progress.Reported as bug: VB-34613 "[SlowAudio] Mixcloud plays slow"
-
Sadly, the workaround no longer fixes the issue. The audio still sounds like a deep voiced Klingon (Vivaldi Enterprise Edition).
-
No audio issue, just tested.

Oh Gwen. That was 4 months ago.
The VB-34613 is confirmed, and affects Win and Mac. -
I found a workaround!
If I put the video page in a Web Panel and play it from there, it plays perfectly. It's an extra hoop to jump through, but still better than opening another browser.
-
@fred8615 Interesting. They will feed good content to what they think is a mobile platform, and broken content to what they think is an unfamiliar desktop platform. That's just wrong.
-
I have the same problem on http://southpark.cc.com/. The theme before an episode plays fine, but the episode itself plays with "slomo" sound. Using 64bit Windows 10 and 64bit Vivaldi.
-
@abily Found a 9 months old thread where another user mentions the audio problem with the Southpark website. The developers obviously haven't found a solution yet but it might be helpful in understanding the issue: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/19025/audio-playback-slowed-down

@vivbee The fix using dev-tools Gwen-Dragon posted in that thread works. I tried a few useragent changing extensions before but they didn't help.

Didn't work for me.

There is a fix in the works. Did a quick test with my build here and things work, while they fail in an earlier build.

@jon I did try the latest 1.15 Snapshot this morning and the AFL videos play just fine in it. Looking forward to the stable release.
