@floba: If you're on Windows maybe give the following a try. Fingers crossed that there is a Windows "snapshot" not too old.
Restoring files from previous versions (Win7)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17119/windows-7-recover-lost-deleted-filesHow to Restore Previous Versions of Files in Windows 10
https://winaero.com/blog/restore-previous-versions-windows-10/FWIW: this can also be enabled for addtional drives.

@takaaki -and thank you for your reply!

Win 7 64
Win 10 64 bit 64 bit Viv in bothWhen logging on to post,,Viv says authentication problem, then I hit reload takes me to my account with correct login, then I have to come back here to post kind of a pain. Been happening a long time.
No comment on bugs or performance issues way beyond me on features I would need already will NEVER use Vertical or doubtful not unless spreadsheet maybe.
I know I'll get flamed for this but so many good features already wouldn't it be better to work on bugs, speed, M5 ( which I don't know if I'll use now didn't realize it was such a BIG project after switching to Thunderbird a year or more ago) security etc. I know I'm crazy my thoughts. Very pleased overall. -
@gigzama: Yeah, tried here and it indeed behaved like this.
-
@floba: Working as expected here. Windows 10 x64, Viv x64.
-
F2 key (Quick Commands hotkey) isn't working in this build. At least via 'Options' menu is OK. Clean install here, Win 10 x64, Viv x64. Could someone confirm this?
-
@cptguapo work for me, win7 32bit

Works for me - Win 10 Pro (1709); Vivaldi 1.14.1072.3 (64-bit).
At least via 'Options' menu is OK.
Which Options menu and what is OK ? -
@cptguapo: Thanks for the answers, guys.
Due to some weird reason, I actually verified that all F-keys of my PC had this problem of not working. A reboot solved all the problem. Go figure...

Oh, if only there were some wonderful alternatives...

I thought i vaguely recalled another user recently posting about V-SS crashing if user tries refreshing the Speed-dial thumbnails, but a quick search in this page for "crash" or "speed" did not find anything... maybe i dreamed it? Anyway today V-SS crashed on me every single time i tried to refresh SD TNs. Not instantly, it always waited a few seconds, but then it crashed -- fully, no hanging processes remaining. It occurs regardless of trying F5 for all TNs on a given SD page, or even just individual TNs via its little corner-icon.
-
@steffie Sounds like it must be trying to fetch a thumbnail from a malformed page.
-
@ayespy Oh! Interesting. Well, this is sure gonna be fun, trying every SD TN one by one to discover THE culprit.

@Takaaki - my friend who reads/speaks Chinese to whom i introduced Vivaldi could not find the option to view in vertical mode a Chinese page. He is busy and Vivaldi is new to him and i do not speak nor read Chinese, so i don't know what to tell him.
Is it a hotkey/shortcut to view a Chinese page that works only when GUI is set to Chinese?

Reader View is enabled by clicking an icon at the right of the URL field, wherever the web page supports reader view.
