Vivaldi 1.13 RC 1 - Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.13.1008.30
-
I'm with Vivaldi since 1.11 - I really try to love that Browser,
but that Dead Bird Tabs on Twitch and Youtube are a hard gamebreaker for me...
Such things don't happen for me on the chrome browser.
Made some Dead Bird Threads in the Forum, sadly none of the Tips people gave me helpped. -
Assigned shortcuts for hiding addressbar / tabbar (CTRL + arrow up, CTRL+arrow down) sometime work, sometimes not (reset and reassign doesn't help)
Does it depends on the website you are on ? -
@irontiger
If you not a tester and needs to work, try to use stable 1.12
I think that a well-functioning stable version 1.13 will not be released quickly. Vivaldi does not have many resources, it's not Google. -
Why does whenever a new link is opened in a new tab, that tab has back button enabled. I have clicked that back button lot of times which takes me back to a blank page. I keeps forgetting to close that new tab because it looks like to me I should click the back button.
-
@saudiqbal I can't reproduce, new tabs opened from links, either new tab or new background tab, never have back button enabled.
If you mean links opened from speed dial, or your home page, that's why, the 1st page is the new empty tab, whatever you have set as new tab content. -
At 1st, many thanks for the lot of fixes in the 1.13.1008 snapshots!
On my list, I've to search for bugs which aren't solved.
At least, I've one small issue with the Vivaldi Button if the Tab Bar Position is set to bottom.mf
Environment: Windows 10 (x64), Vivaldi x32, 1.13.1008.30
-
[Regression] Vivaldi always starts in windowed mode (VB-34137)
===>>> Not solved !!!

Now on that site I can see what is the problem, I thought you were opening the links in a new tab using Vivaldi's forced new tab gestures or menus.
By opening those links with simple left click they get forcibly opened in a new tab via target="_blank", and that's where the "bug" is showing, but if opened with ctrl-click or shift-click they open without getting the about:blank as first url.
Care to report it? I too think about:blank should not get into visited history if it's the first in the tab. -
Holding MMB and scrolling is still broken.

[Regression] Vivaldi always starts in windowed mode (VB-34137)
I'm not sure if this is related to VB-34237: New Windows are not fully maximized
VB-34237 is still an issue for me on Linux. -
@ugly I think I saw backstage today that the new window size problem was fixed.
-
Regression: Right click + Scroll to switch tabs is scrolling the current page before making the switch.
-
@cqoicebordel: As far as I can say: no.
It even happens on speeddial... -
@gruz7848: I would, but I can't install both versions side by side (full install not USB-version!).
I'm testing 1.13 so it's fine, but I'd like to use it daily for testing - that's not possibly atm.
Calling this a RC is making me nervous. That doesn't sound like it will be ironed out... if they: fine!I know that Vivaldi is small - that's not a problem for me.
Greetings

@irontiger Why can't you install side-by-side? (there is no USB version - the standalone version is a full install that uses its own profile)
