Moving towards a stable version – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.13.1008.19
-
Cool..
But is there a reason vivaldi chromium version is always behind? I mean, opera dev is already at v64.... -
I love Vivaldi browser, and it is one where I am willing to work in the DEV version, since it is way more stable that some production browsers. Keep up the good work!
-
@regnas: Because we are in the stabilization branch, to bring the stable version very soon.
Vivaldi doesn't have the manpower to handle three streams. So they work to be as close as possible to Chr releases. Internally they are probably working on v64. The snapshots just after the release will probably contain v63 (or a bit later, if they have trouble integrating it). And the current stable need to be v62.
The goal point is the stable version. And they are just a couple of weeks behind there. For the rest, the version in the snapshots is not important -
Can not wait to use 1.13
-
Right Click + Scroll to change tab still not working on many sites (eg. Facebook).
Please fix it -
On Mac, in Private Window: dragging the gap between Addressbar and Search Bar I get a grey bar that overlaps a part of everything (Adressbar and Search Bar).
-
new day new snapshot but still the linux package problem has not been solved...
-
... and scroll contents on the others
-
@gwen-dragon the bug where vivaldi snap has a double icon when launched and is launched as vivaldi stable...is present from 5 or 6 snaps...

Is the change in user agent in this release and even 1.12, if not others, to do with some sites thinking that 1.10+ are old versions (i.e. 1.1 etc)?
(Like a lot of people probably do, too, but I've made the versioning argument before and lost.)
I can't think of any other reason that Vivaldi declares itself now as 1.93, 1.94, etc. I'm surprised that any sites would be checking for Vivaldi's version numbers in the first place though, so maybe there's another explanation.
BTW, you can see the user agent on any number of sites, such as the Vivaldi bug report form.
-
@rseiler Yes. Ever since sites began rejecting or warning about Vivaldi because 1.10 was "older" than 1.9, the user agent has been incremented as 1.9X to avoid that.

@ayespy Presumably that the reason for:

-
@pesala: Should I edit Vivaldi version from 1.94.1008.19 to 1.13.1008.19 in that form to report a bug?
-
@rluik I did, but I am sure they know the reason why so many reports have 1.94.1008.18 as the version number instead of 1.13.1008.18 or whatever.

Thanks for VB-33972, at last no clicking problems...
I already wanted to repair my mouse... -
Win 7 64 bit, Viv 64 2 Core machine "slow?"
Win 10 64 bit, Viv 64 8 core machine " fast?"
FYI:
Sorry this is getting beyond me! I thought you'd like to know, this has been going on for many SS installs. I ALWAYS download and exit out of browsers, same way on both. This may be just the nature of the BEAST ( Win 10?)I always have hanging Viv processes in Win 10 install that sit forever when installing Viv on that laptop! Have to KILL them to install.
Completely different on supposed SLOW clunky 2 core laptop! Processes always exit and IMMEDIATELY, install no problem.
So new doesn't seem better in all ways. I like Win 7 better than Win 10 menus, fluidity etc. I know I am old "get with the times". Give me old handtools made and done right, not China throwaways same with computers...love Viv. Thanks, didn't know if this was something to be looked into.
Your snapshots seem, overall, to be VERY stable to me. Little glitches but nothing BIG, but I am not pushing anything to limit.
-
@pesala It is.
-
When i launch Vivaldi with the side panel closed, the icon bar of the side panel pops up for a few milliseconds and disappears immediately.
-
@halleandert: I've just reported it by using the bug tracker. I hope that will help to fix the bug.

Thx guys for another update! Much appreciated. However the bug concerning the window size when restarting browser is still there. It opens on my win 7 machine (x64) as a stripe in the middle no matter the last position was full screen maxed.....
