I suggest image and text preview version like in Brief extension

@metaleiroll Whut? Why not just use the bookmarks panel, and leave it open to that folder?
A web panel is a page, displayed in a special fashion. A bookmark folder is not a page and, realistically, cannot be a page, without extensive coding such as we see in Speed Dial. In fact, you can select MULTIPLE bookmark folders to show in Speed Dial, which can give you a single interface for each folder - if that helps.

Vivaldi should force <video> element load at last order
Recently, Youtube optimized it's video performance so good that it force video to be loaded first. As a result, most browser suffer from crappy performance when visiting Youtube!!!
Why video should ONLY be loaded after everything else? Because when video begin loading & playing, it will consuming most bandwidth & resources available, and since it also the largest file on the webpage, it will take forever to be complete. Thus it cause unnecessary slowdown & poor performance when Vivaldi need to handle heavy work (video) when busy loading other lighter stuff at once.
Now, what if we delayed video loading to last order? Vivaldi will be able to load & render lighter element quickly, and then ONLY concentrate on heavy duty stuff, the VIDEO.
Thanks.

Make 'Escape' in search bar optional
Pressing 'Escape' causes all typed text in the search bar to disappear; it's better to make it optional, as in order to type another search term in place of the current, one merely has to press 'Ctrl+A' typing over it, whereas an unintentional press of 'Escape' button mercilessly removes all typed text, and not even 'Ctrl+Z' can then restore it.
To illustrate the point:
type something into the search bar and allow the search engines list to appear, suppose you decide to postpone the search and to re-examine the webpage's content again, as most keys do not work while the search bar menu is still active, you hit 'Escape,' and your typed text is GONE! You cannot search at a later time - you will have but to retype it, as even 'Ctrl+Z can't restore it, your typed text has vanished wholly & forever! This is how 'Escape' functions in the search bar ...

Saved sessions should be saved to a bookmark folder and they should be available in the speed-dial for easier access.
The current way to load saved sessions is very clunky. You need to open a seperate menu and have a seperate UI of a list of your saved sessions, it works but it's not ideal.
What would be great is to at least have an option so that when you save a session a new folder is created where your bookmarks are stores, we can call it Saved Sessions. This folder will not contain links but rather the saved sessions themselves as separate files, so you can go to this folder from the bookmarks bar and click them to load them up as you would with normal bookmarks.
Additionally to this you should also have the option to enable this folder in your speed dial so that you can access the saved sessions directly from there. When you click the speed-dial, you can then click the Saved Sessions folder at the top of it and then each session will appear as it's own saved square in that view (with some kind of a placeholder icon that you can optionally change), if you click it the session simply loads, either in a new window (a bonus preference) or in the same window.
This would be great as you eliminate the need to use multiple different menus to get to your tabs and it will integrate with the bookmarks bar and the speed dial, plus you don't need to memorize new keyboard shortcuts or search menus to navigate to your saved sessions, you either just go to your bookmarks bar/folder and open them with a single click or you open your speed-dial and do the same thing there! Very very productive if you have a few different sessions for different tasks and you want to open them quickly.
Allow syncing of saved sessions and speed-dial across devices.
Currently there's no sync feature to carry over your tabs to your other computers and this is no easy task to do..especially to do well but for now I purpose being able to sync your speed dial and your saved sessions. This won't make a mess of loading tabs you had on other devices but you'll still be able to recover them if needed and sync the more vital information you need that you had already saved.
Ideally, we'd have vivaldi accounts setup to us so that the sync happens based on our accounts once we log on from somewhere so that our speed dial and saves sessions can be loaded on other machines.
This ties in with my other request as well. Additional functionality can be added when you save a session so that vivaldi automatically prepends the computer you've saved the session from and the date/time so that then you can easily recognize your saved sessions.

Touch Bar support on Touch Bar-enabled Macbook devices
From using a Macbook Pro with a touch bar I find the feature to be not useful for some apps but to be especially useful for web browsing and for productivity apps like Photoshop. Chrome has basic support itself, for quick access to the URL search bar and back/forward buttons, Safari takes it further with individual tab access on the bar itself, and if, say, a YouTube video was playing, playback controls like pause and scroll were available. A customisable set of tools for the touch bar would be ideal, and could prove useful
Below is not my device, but a device using Chrome's current touch bar support. Even something as basic as that could be useful if nothing more extravagant was planned

More robust animated image features
Animated image are cool, but we need 'em under control. These are my suggestions for improving browser performance while loading webpage with many animated images.
-
Delay animation until image is completely downloaded. Why all browser start playing choppy animation images while downloading? It's unpleasant to watch & very resources taxing. Just imagine if you have 20 large size animated images loading at once...
-
Skip download animated image with large file size (decided by user), & display image file size in placeholder. Then let user download it on demand by click on LOAD icon in the placeholder. Maybe only download a preview image for placeholder?
-
Play animation on demand. Stop all animation on load, then add option to allow user to click on PLAY icon on the image to begin playing animation once or loop (as setup in statusbar).

Well I like Vivaldi but I don't use it because of those 3 basic things:
- No native OS support
(I'm on Windows 7 and plan to stay at least until 2020 when support will be dropped) - White blinking tabs when accessing tabs previously loaded in the background (no, using dark themes is not the real solution)
- No easy and fast way to create Speed Dial thumbnails with their logos and without ads on them.
- No native OS support

@vuccappella said in Feature requests for 1.13:
Saved sessions should be saved to a bookmark folder and they should be available in the speed-dial for easier access.
I think there might be a better way to implement this. Instead of having sessions act like bookmarks, Vivaldi could unify Tabs and Bookmarks and make sessions act like bookmark folders. Each new window would automatically create a folder, where the tabs of the window are automatically synchronized with the bookmarks in the folder. Instead of changing session, you'd change which folder was linked to the window.
This has a bunch of advantages:
- No need to manually save sessions - windows are automatically sync'd with bookmark folders, so closing the window just means making that bookmark folder inactive.
- With a 1 window = 1 bookmark folder connection, it's possible to have multiple sessions open at once. This would be a good replacement for anyone who is used to Firefox's Panorama/Tab Groups
- All the features of bookmarks can now be done to tabs, e.g. copying a partial set of tabs from an inactive session into the current session. Cloning a session would be as simple as Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.
And some disadvantages:
- The extra session data saved per tab would probably increase disk usage
- If each new window creates a new folder, there would have to be some sort of autodelete for people who don't want their sessions to be saved.
- The 1 window = 1 bookmark folder might not work for people who rely on sessions to manage groups of windows (but does anyone do this? I stick to 1 window per monitor max)

Sanitize "Save As" filenames:
When picking/pasting filenames into the "Save As" dialog, forbidden characters should be removed/replaced. The function doesn't have to be sophisticated (since finding illegal filenames under Linux is a matter of file system, rendering it close to impossible). It would be enough if it replaced the characters /:?"<>| (this is for Windows, obviously) with an underscore, thus making life a bit more convenient. -

Show Title and URL in Popinfo when mouseover BACK/FORWARD/REWIND/FF button
Currently they show "Hold for history list", it's nice for the first time when new user don't know about it (right click is faster lol). But why not display something much useful, such as Title & URL of the webpage if you click on the button?

As far as the snapshots are great have few hiccups here and there no issue
for features there are some most need ones- sync bookmarks and settings to account
- right click option for bookmark bar for bookmarks(i didnt mean the folders i meant what is in it) so we can open in background
- oneclick to update fav-icons
- real-time update notification as soon a new one is pushed with option to save work and restart
- pause video if going to another tab or pop up video (i know pop up is requested)
- new tab with basic details like time and current weather and if account is there name of the person
- dark mode ( for late nighters)
but thanks to the full team for a great browser and all the hard work which was put into it
